    BITSAT 2020 Photo and Signature Upload Guidelines

    BITS Pilani has extended the application form filling dates till May 5, 2020, in the wake of global pandemic COVID-19. The online application forms can be filled on the official website. 

    While filling the BITSAT Application Form, candidates have to upload the scanned copy of signatures and passport size photographs. There are some instructions that are provided to the applicants while uploading these documents which include, file format, file size, etc. Click Here BITSAT 2020 Registration

    Candidates must carefully upload the documents as per the shared guidelines in order to avoid cancellation of their candidature. The article below specifies all the instructions and BITSAT photo specifications in detail.

    BITSAT Application Form is filled in 3 major steps - Filling the online application form, uploading scanned images, and making fee payment. After filling the application form, candidates are redirected to the next step to upload scanned images of passport size photograph and signatures. The photo specifications as stated by the conducting body BITS Pilani, have been mentioned below:

    • The photograph must be recently clicked with a plain, preferably white background.

    • Candidates must avoid using a selfie camera to click the photograph, go to the professional for a proper passport size photograph.

    • The photograph must be clear and should not have any manual marks on it. 

    • If a candidate wears spectacles, make sure that there are no reflections in the photograph and your eyes are clearly visible.

    If the size of the photograph, at the time of uploading, exceeds the said dimensions, then candidates must adjust the settings of the scanner such as the no. of color’s, DPI resolution, etc., during the scanning process.

    At the time of filling the BITSAT Application Form 2020, candidates are required to upload a scanned copy of their signatures as well. The specifications and conditions to upload the scanned signatures are as follows:

    • The signature must be done on a white paper with a black ink pen.

    • The signatures uploaded at the time of filling the application form will be matched with the signatures in the attendance sheet, and hall ticket at the time of examination. In case of any mismatch, their candidature will be canceled.

    Do’s and Don’ts for BITSAT - Photo and Signature

    In order to avoid rejection of application form and cancellation of their candidature, the BITSAT aspirants must keep the following things in mind:

    • Applicants must carry the copies of uploaded passport size photographs at the time of examination for verification. 

    • Make sure that the photograph is clearly visible with no ‘red-eyes’, hats, or sunglasses. 

    • If a candidate wears the spectacles on a daily basis, he/she can get the photograph clicked in it, provided there are no reflections, and eyes are not hidden. 

    • Polaroid photos are not acceptable.

    • Make sure that you are uploading the contents in the right boxes. The links to upload passport size photograph and scanned signatures are given separately in the application form.

    • The signatures should be in running handwriting only if a candidate fails to match the signatures in the application form and at the exam center, his/her candidature will be canceled. 

    • Candidates who have paid the application fee have the window to make corrections in the BITSAT Application Form within the announced timeline.

    Scanning the Photograph And Signature

    Scanning the Photograph And Signature for BITSAT

    While scanning the required photograph and signatures for BITSAT 2020, students must keep in mind the following points.

    • The resolution of the scanner must be set to a minimum of 200 dpi and color settings must be on true color.

    • Make sure that the file size must be exactly as specified, i.e. between 50 kb to 80 for the photograph and signatures. 

    • If the image size exceeds the prescribed file size, candidates must use the upload-editor or crop the file in MS Paint or MS Office Picture Manager.

    • The image file for both the documents is JPG/JPEG format. An example file name is image01.jpeg.


    Procedure for Uploading

    After filling the details in the BITSAT application form, candidates are required to upload two documents. The links are provided separately for both the documents to be uploaded. The procedure for the same is as follows:

    • Click on the ‘Choose File’ option against the Photo column. 

    • Select the respective file and click on ‘Open.’

    • Select the 'Upload' option, and press enter.

    Every year, BITSAT Application Correction Window is opened for candidates to edit or correct the details they have entered in the application form incorrectly. The steps to rectify issues in the photograph are as follows:

    • Visit the official website bitsadmission.com

    • Navigate for the ‘BITSAT Form Correction’ link.

    • Enter your credentials and click on ‘Proceed’

    • Edit the details that are incorrect, make changes in the uploaded documents (if required), and click on the ‘Submit’ button.

    • Save the changes and take the printout of the confirmation page.

    I have by mistake uploaded signature in photograph coloum. How can I edit it

    Hi Amay, the correction window for BITSAT was available only between 23-24 July. Hence, you cannot edit your uploaded signature column.
