Instead, each branch at each campus has its own closing score, published on bitsadmission.com after each admission iteration. The BITSAT 2027 exam is expected in May 2027, with cutoffs following in June and July 2027.

BITSAT 2027 registration is expected to open in January 2027. The exam is likely to be held in May 2027. The first admission iteration is expected in late June or July 2027.

Here is what you should know about the BITSAT 2027 cutoff right now:

• CSE at BITS Pilani had a closing score of around 368 marks in the final iteration of BITSAT 2026. That is the highest cutoff across all campuses and branches.
• BITSAT 2027 has a maximum of 390 marks for 130 regular questions. Twelve bonus questions — worth up to 36 marks — become available if you finish early.
• There is no reservation for SC, ST, OBC, or EWS at BITS campuses. All seats fill purely on BITSAT score merit.
• The cutoff at BITS Hyderabad is typically 20 to 30 marks lower than at BITS Pilani for the same branch.
• BITS runs multiple admission iterations each year. The first iteration has the highest closing score; the final iteration has the lowest.
• M.Sc. and B.Pharm programmes have lower cutoffs — from around 248 marks — compared to core engineering branches.
• Based on the five-year trend, CSE at BITS Pilani is expected to need around 370 to 375 marks in 2027.

Factors Affecting BITSAT Cutoff 2027

The cutoff does not stay the same every year. Several factors push it up or pull it down. Knowing these helps you set a realistic score target for 2027.

• Number of candidates appearing: A larger applicant pool means more competition. More high-scoring candidates lead to higher closing scores for popular branches.
• Difficulty of the exam paper: A tougher paper brings average scores down across all candidates. Cutoffs tend to fall slightly in such years — by 3 to 5 marks for most branches.
• Total seats available per branch: If BITS increases intake in a branch, the cutoff drops because more candidates get in. A reduction in seats pushes the cutoff higher.
• Branch popularity: CSE, ECE, and CS-adjacent programmes attract the highest scorers. Mechanical, Chemical, and Civil branches attract fewer top scorers, so their cutoffs remain lower.
• Campus preference: BITS Pilani consistently attracts the highest scores. BITS Goa and BITS Hyderabad have progressively lower cutoffs for the same branch and programme.
• Number of admission iterations: Years with more iterations allow more candidates to find seats. The closing score at the final iteration can be lower in such years.
• Score normalisation across sessions: BITSAT is held over multiple sessions. If BITS normalises scores across sessions for 2027, the effective cutoff benchmarks may shift slightly from raw scores.

Campus-Wise Cutoff for BITSAT 2027

BITS has three main campuses: Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. Each campus has its own closing score for each branch. Pilani needs the highest scores, followed by Goa, and then Hyderabad. The gap between campuses is 15 to 30 marks for the same branch.

The table below shows expected closing score ranges for key branches in 2027. These are based on 2022 to 2026 BITS admission data. BITS Pilani will release the actual 2027 scores during the iterations.

A score of 370 or above gives you a strong chance at CSE in BITS Pilani. For BITS Hyderabad CSE, aim for at least 345 marks to stay safe across all iterations.

BITSAT Cutoff 2027: Branch-Wise

The branch you choose matters as much as the campus. CSE and ECE consistently have the highest cutoffs. Civil, Chemical, and B.Pharm have much lower cutoffs and are more accessible even at a score around 270 to 290.

BITSAT Previous Year Cutoff Trends

Five years of BITSAT data reveal two clear patterns. First, CSE and ECE cutoffs have risen steadily each year. Second, non-engineering branches like Civil, Chemical, and B.Pharm have risen more slowly. The table below tracks closing scores for eight branch-campus combinations from 2022 to 2026.

CSE at BITS Pilani saw the largest absolute rise over five years. It moved up by 16 marks, from 352 in 2022 to 368 in 2026. CSE at BITS Hyderabad also rose by 15 marks, from 325 to 340. ECE branches across all three campuses moved up by 13 to 14 marks over the same period.

Non-CS branches moved more slowly. Mechanical at BITS Pilani rose by 13 marks, and Chemical rose by 12 marks. Civil and B.Pharm branches moved by only 8 to 11 marks over the five years. This gap between CS and non-CS trends has widened since 2023 and is likely to continue into 2027.

If you score between 325 and 350, you have realistic options. BITS Goa ECE, BITS Hyderabad CSE, and EEE at Pilani are all within reach. Add these to your list instead of waiting only for Pilani CSE.

Expected BITSAT Cutoff 2027

BITSAT 2027 cutoffs will not be released until the admission iterations begin in mid-2027. Based on the 2022 to 2026 trend, here is what you can expect for each major branch at each campus.

Three factors could change these expectations. If BITS increases seats in CSE, the cutoff may stay flat or drop by 2 to 3 marks. If the 2027 paper is harder than 2026, all cutoffs could drop by 3 to 5 marks. If more candidates appear in 2027 than in 2026, cutoffs could rise faster than the trend suggests.

How to Check BITSAT Cutoff 2027

BITS Pilani publishes closing scores branch-by-branch and campus-by-campus on its admissions portal after each iteration. There is no separate PDF download from a third party. Follow these steps to check your cutoff status.

1. Go to bitsadmission.com.
2. Navigate to the Admissions section for 2027.
3. Click on "Iteration Results" or "Merit List" for the current iteration.
4. Download the branch-wise and campus-wise merit list for that iteration.
5. Find your target branch and campus. The lowest score in the list is the closing score for that iteration.
6. Compare that score with your own BITSAT score to assess your chance.
7. Repeat this after each iteration. The closing score typically drops by 5 to 15 marks from Iteration 1 to the final one.

BITS also sends email updates to all registered candidates at each iteration milestone. Keep your registered email accessible throughout the admission period.

BITSAT Cutoff 2027: Admission Process

BITS Pilani uses an iteration-based admission system — not a single-round counselling. Understanding how iterations work helps you decide when to accept a seat and whether to wait for a better option.

Iteration 1: BITS releases the first merit list based on BITSAT scores and candidate preferences. Top-scoring candidates get their first preference. This iteration has the highest closing score of the year. If you get your desired programme, accept immediately.

Iteration 2: Candidates not allotted a seat in Iteration 1, or who rejected their allotment, get a second opportunity. The closing score typically drops by 5 to 10 marks from Iteration 1. You can upgrade to a better branch or campus if a seat opens up.

Iteration 3 / Final Iteration: Any remaining unfilled seats open to eligible candidates. This iteration has the lowest closing score of the year. If your score is borderline, this is often your best opportunity. However, fewer seats and limited branch choices are available at this stage.

Key rules to remember:

• You must accept your allotment and pay fees within the deadline. Missing the deadline forfeits your seat.
• You can upgrade to a better branch or campus in later iterations. A seat must be available and your score must qualify.
• DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) applies to NRI, OCI, and PIO candidates using SAT scores — not BITSAT.
