IIT-Madras Not to Allow Branch Change After First Semester for 2020-21 Academic Year 

Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, or IIT-M has decided to halt the process of branch change at the end of the first semester for incoming students of the 2020-21 academic year. Officials stated this regulation will be applicable for the 2020-21 academic year only. 

The change in branch is generally facilitated at the end of the first semester on the basis of CGPA.

Officials said that students of IIT-Madras B.Tech will be allowed to change their course of three years' degree into five years dual degree program in the fourth or fifth semester.

• Advanced Nanotechnology
• Computational Engineering
