Remarks

First things first, I was pretty much sure since my high school days, that I want to pursue computer science as my undergraduate, so as usual most students, I too prepared for engineering entrance exams, but as fate would have it, my score were not good enough to get me into a good iit, so I contemplated and explored over various options available to me, one thing that helped is that I was sure about course I want to pursue, I just had to select an institution, rather than some of my friends who were unsure even about the branch they wanna pursue, my dad suggested me to take BITSAT, I was apprehensive but reluctantly agreed, it went good, now finally after all shortlisting,I had finally two options before me,either MNIT Jaipur or Bits PILANI, after many rounds of consultation s and conselling, I made up my mind for bits PILANI, the main factor was bits PILANI was a globally acclaimed institution, also there was an excellent placement support system present, also but not a major factor, I wanted some time away from home, to experience hostel life

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Overall according to me in CSE bits has one of the most updated curriculum in India, owing to its global presence, and synchronisation among all campuses, curriculum is on par with global standards, but I have heard from my friends that in some branches like chemical, it is outdated, but still on par with national standards, coming to industrial exposure and internships there were enough of it, there were regular hackathons throughout the course duration on industrial problems and issues, also in our sophomore year we were divided into 4 teams and each team had to create an android application on patient data management for Apollo hospital, it has one of the best faculties in respective branches, but still not of that level of top iits, but good enough, one professor I always fondly remember is our computer graphics teacher tathagta ray, he had such an enchanting and fluid style that everyone was mesmerized

Internships Opportunities

Bosch limited, Bosch software division as an assistant developer automated braking system, I was paid 35k per month and it was a 5 month long internship, basically there are two internships in bits first at the end of 2 nd year, these are called practice schools PS 1 and PS 2 which take place at the end of 3rd year and is 5 month long, students profile are sent to the interested companies and they invite the selected students for summer internship, you must have a good work profile and reference letters from top faculties to get good offers.

College Events

4.5

Campus life is as good as it can get, these 4 years are fly away so quickly, that you didn't realize, when it all started, there is whole lot of extracurricular activities taking place round the year, ranging from small inter branch mic stands, to the annual college extravaganza "oasis" which runs for 4 days, there is always something happening, but you cant be part of everything, there are hobby clubs, which organise fun lessons on weekends, theatre drama plays, also a major event is the student union election all these co curriculars together make the, otherwise tough and hectic college life much easy to bear.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are merit scholarships if you are among the top rankers among your batch you can get about 60% scholarship, even if you maintain your CGPA above 6.5 you can avail 20 % waiver, I personally availed 25 % scholarship, there are also various loans available out there in the market but while taking loan one thing you must careful about is the term you can take the loan, take the loan which gives you the maximum duration for repayment,so that if you decides on continuing for masters you can continue without having to worry about repayment.

Campus Life

4.5

One thing that I liked most about BITS, is its imposing campus, it is like u entering into a whole new city, there is just everything inside from restaurant s to fashion outlets, stationery, all types of sporting equipments, athletic tracks, swimming pools, TT etc, state of the art library ( but you need get a monthly pass) hangouts spots, cafeteria, the labs really make you feel like you're a scientist or researcher, and offcourse there WiFi in hostel, but one thing I dont like about the campus, that it's too big XD, you easily get lost, it took me almost 3 years properly figure out the way to the library XD.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels in BITS, are one most happening places in the campus there are 11 of them, and one for girls, they are always buzzing with some sort of hulla be, as 90% percent of the students are outstation ones, so most of them reside in hostels, coming to the hostel infrastructure, they are well spacious and airy, and one room is shared by 2 students, each has their separate cupboard, dressing, bed, and study table, most importantly these rooms are customisable if u are used to living in AC then u can have one installed at your personal expense, but coolers or heaters in winter are not allowed, and there are plenty of hostel rooms available, so it is not hard to get a room, and the average monthly rent adding water and electricity is about 30000 per semester

Placement Experience:

Campus placement for M.Tech students usually begins in the 3rd semester, allowing students to build their technical knowledge and complete relevant projects. The TPC is active and brings in a mix of core and IT giants and research-driven organizations. QUALCOMM, TEXAS INSTRUMENTS, MICROCHIP, Marvel, Intel, SAMSUNG, and AMAZON regularly visit the campus. The highest package will be 30 LPA, mid and avg are approximately the same, about 24 LPA, approximately 80% students get placed through campus drives, while others pursue Ph.D and research projects. Personally, after completing my degree, I aim to expand my embedded system knowledge to work in the semiconductor industry, while also keeping the option of pursuing doctoral research abroad if the right opportunity arises

Course Curriculum Overview:

For me, from my childhood,I was impressed to this course, since my father was related to veterinary and animal husbandry. So for me being a veterinary doctor is not a new thing. Curriculum is relevant to the course. It is completely according to the RAJUVAS and the instructions given by the Veterinary council of India. The curriculum on the theory basis gives an idea about the course, but the practical curriculum gives us an idea about the real life applications to be practiced as a doctor. Since, i am 1st year, i am not able to suggest the improvements related to the curriculum. The course on an average is difficult, the frequency and timings of the exams are accurate and perfect based on the difficulty level giving as time for better preparation.
