Remarks

The college was great. I really enjoyed the time spent in DRC, the in campus atmosphere. The college was very nicely maintained and had almost all facilities for sports/music, political groups etc.

Entrance Preview

I did my Political science (H) from this college and I opted for it as I was getting the mix of all subjects - core and elective that I wanted.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum was good at that point of time and enabled students to study at their own pace teachers were available to teach and take extra classes if required. I still remember my few teachers Mrs.yaduvansh and Mrs shiparna ray. Who contributed towards my learning.

Internships Opportunities

Since it was not a professional course, n courses didn't offer any stipend until then. These were only graduation course so there was no experience in this field as such.

Placement Experience

1

Placements were not available and job opportunities available like it is for normal graduate. I mean under graduate courses had very limited options for taking up jobs. If at all the jobs were svailable, it required entry level skills thought it made a student eligible for sitting in competitive exams.

College Events

4

Rock show, jam session, fashion show, cultural events, musical nights, flower show. The rock show was very popular amongst students and students from other colleges were allowed entry. Students used to get many opportunities to interact with each other.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was good/average then. I don't remember exact details but to get the entrance I think I paid Rs.4500 for the first year and then subsequent years had variable fee but not very high. The structure included the tuition fee, refundable amount, library security and it was affordable.

Fees and Financial Aid

No loan facility however, scholarships were available. I could not avail any facility if at all loans were available the procedure to take loan from a bank or a financial institution was very difficult.

Campus Life

4

It was a women only college. However the cultural society was great. There were students across India and other neighboring countries. So that means the college uses to value the cultural and political diversity. Students used to participate in university and college elections and the atmosphere was really friendly. Students available from all economic strata.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Since I didn't opt for hostel I am unable to comment anything on this part but as known from friends there was a separate fee for girls hostel girls exit at night was restricted. But it had safe and secure environment seniors used to rag freshers though.

Alumni/Alumna

Our group of friends formed in college is still in touch. Though I personally do not have any connection with seniors.

Exam Structure

Exams used to happen on yearly basis. We used to prepare using ten years question paper. The exams used to carry all subjective questions in peak summers. Every student was able to pass and it's only in the final year a student had to clear all papers.

Faculty

4

They used to give time and discuss the issues and were highly qualified and senior teachers. Also they used to guide us whole facing any challenges doing the assignments they were very cooperative, friendly and helpful.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.
