Remarks

For a Bachelor of arts in history, one does not need to appear for an entrance exam. The admission process is fully based on merit. After filling out the registration form on the Delhi University portal one needs to wait for the cut-off list. As soon as the cut-off list is out, look for the college in which, according to the aggregate of best of four subjects, you have qualified. Apply for that college, print out the application, and visit the college. The college will provide you with an admission form. You have to fill it, attach your required documents and submit it. Once the principal sign it, admission is confirmed.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Ramjas history department is one of the best things happened to me. The class had nearly 70 students. The teachers are a blessing for us. It has one of the best faculty for history in the entire Delhi University. The teachers are very friendly and easy to bond. They are full of knowledge, real-life experience, and wisdom. The curriculum is one of the best. It covers almost everything. The teacher's style of teaching is also fabulous. Seniors are really helpful. Exams are how they supposed to be, easy if one studies and difficult if one does not. But one can pass with little effort as well. The History Department of Ramjas college is the best example of democracy. Everyone has the right to speak their mind, express their disagreement. It's a complete package, filled with lots of fun and adventure and love and bonding and friendship.

Placement Experience

0.5

For the history department, there is the availability of campus placement, though there is a placement cell in the college. After graduating in history, students either opt for masters or prepare for competition exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

The costs of study are minimal. For a general category student, it is around 14000 for a year.... even less for other students. There are various scholarship programmes offered by both the central and the state government.

Campus Life

4

Ramjas provides an epic opportunity to be a part of greater social life. It has a number of societies that give exposure to a wide audience and greater chances. The scene at the college is lively throughout the year and especially during the fest season. It's is filled with lots of fun and adventure. The canteen area, the amphitheater, and the lawns are the souls of the college. Being of the first colleges to be established in the North campus the infrastructure is British-like (quite photogenic). In 2017 it completed 100 years on the eve of which a new building consisting of five floors was inaugurated. It also has a gym, sports Complex, a football ground.

Interview Experience

4.5

There were no group discussions or interviews or even a written exam for this course. It was simply based on class 12th marks. One need not worry about preparing for an entrance exam. You just have to add up the best of four subjects(English or any other language paper is mandatory) and see if you are able to reach the cut-off.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being brutally honest I don't think that the course contributes a lot to our preparation for the real world but it teaches us very new things which I like. The course might not be very helpful in our real life preparation or the preparation for the real world but at the same time it enhances our knowledge and teachers as about various new things so I am satisfied with my course and whatever the curriculum includes I like it

In term of relevance I'll say that there are many topics which should not be taught as they are way too old and contradicting in modern times. New tumes problems and solutions should be taught in replace focusing on present.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are generally placed with an average package of 7-8 lakhs for management programs. Companies including the big 4 like EY, KPMG, Deloitte and other reputed companies have visited and many offers have been made. Around 60% of the students get placed in management branch. After getting the degree, I am also planning to appear in the placement opportunities.
