Entrance Preview

I always wanted to study History in my under graduation and Ramjas was the best college for this particular course with some mind blowing faculty there.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The Institute offers 3 years Bachelor Degree Courses in B.Com for those who has completed there XII. B.A.(Honours) English - Stands for Bachelor of Arts(Honours) in English. Typically, a B.A.(Honours) is a three year course, minimum eligibility for which is an intermediate. The curriculum is fantastic but it was much better during the annual more. Now it has become more classroom oriented rather than inclusive study.

Internships Opportunities

I never did any internship there or even heard of it so I can't really say anything about internships. But the companies that come to college in third year for placement do provide internships.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement and job opportunities are good. There is a precise placement cell that looks at all kinds of placements students want. Even google comes to Ramjas for job opportunities. Many of my friends got jobs in Google, Zomato and PR firms. To get a job one needs to become the part of Placement cell.

College Events

5

College fests and hindi pakhwada, diwali, holi, Independence day, Republic day, gandhi jayanti, teacher's birthday's. The college administration and management would play a fantastic role in all the celebrations. They provided financial aid for everything.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Even the poorest could afford it. My fee for one year was five thousand and that is all. I don't think you would get cheaper education than that in any Indian college. It helped me save a lot of money for the other things that I wanted to do. The college even doesnot force you to get money for extra curricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facilities in the college are fantastic. I never felt there were too many men or too many women in hostels. We were allowed to have fun and study in whatever way we preferred. The environment helped me personally to be culturally more liberated than ever before. The food used to be okay too. I would rate it 7/10.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students have gone to all kinds of Universities in India and Abroad. I am not really a part of Ramjas alumni but those are, praise them a lot.

Admission

I applied for the course in History(BA) after my CBSE 12th board results were out. I scored 89% and manages to crack through the cut off percentage. Admission in any DU college is simple.

Faculty

5

The faculty of college not just teaches the students but liberates them from the shackles of regressive thoughts. I would not have been what I am today if I had not gone to Ramjas for studying history. They have devoted themselves completely to the respective departments to teach their subjects. Ramjas is particularly fantastic for History, English, Economics and Physics.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being brutally honest I don't think that the course contributes a lot to our preparation for the real world but it teaches us very new things which I like. The course might not be very helpful in our real life preparation or the preparation for the real world but at the same time it enhances our knowledge and teachers as about various new things so I am satisfied with my course and whatever the curriculum includes I like it

In term of relevance I'll say that there are many topics which should not be taught as they are way too old and contradicting in modern times. New tumes problems and solutions should be taught in replace focusing on present.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are generally placed with an average package of 7-8 lakhs for management programs. Companies including the big 4 like EY, KPMG, Deloitte and other reputed companies have visited and many offers have been made. Around 60% of the students get placed in management branch. After getting the degree, I am also planning to appear in the placement opportunities.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting
