Remarks

For pursuing Economics Honors, one should have mathematics as a subject in the 12th class. All the details for the application are available on the DU website and further college specific details can easily be found on the Ramjas College website. To avail SC reservation, you just need to have your SC certificate. Make sure that your and your Father's name on the certificate is exactly the same as in other documents. Since sometimes people have middle names in other documents and not in SC certificates or vice versa. It can result in rejection of your certificate and they will ask you to register a new one within specified time limit which is very less. - The process is pretty smooth and the faculty members who are incharge of admission are also very easily reachable to communicate and clear your doubts.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose Economics Honors because of the value of it, especially in Delhi University and also interest in this. Faculty members are really good with one professor for every 15-20 students. Almost all are PhD. They are really helpful and try to concentrate on every individual student through tutorial classes. They are even very composed as well when it comes to making students understand some concepts. The exams are held at the end of every semester with internals talin place before that. Passing exams is not really a difficult exam, especially when you have taken regular classes

Internships Opportunities

4.5

There are countless internships offered by companies to students through placement cells. It covers diversified fields, whichever students can have an interest in. There is no shortage of suitable internships for one. Stipend given depends on the work and company profile but usually it can be anything from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 50,000.

Placement Experience

4

From the 5th semester, one can apply for. jobs through placement cell. There are several companies which come for recruitment involving ones like D'shaw. After the degree, I would go for masters in Economics.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are pretty genuine of college with all the facilities that they provide. There are certain scholarships available for needy ones as well. For placement, there is a special placement cell named "Pinnacle' that assist students in finding job opportunities and internships with a stipend ranging from Rs. 2,000 to 50,000.

Campus Life

4

All the fests in DU are held in the month of January and February. Ramjas College is one of the best places for that. There are several societies and clubs that students can join ranging from social entrepreneurship to personality development. There is also an Economics society named 'TRES', i.e. 'The Ramjas Economics Society'. All these keep conducting different events, seminars, webinars throughout the year. The library is also very good here. In fact, there are numerous libraries on the entire campus for students. And infrastructure is just mesmerizing with the lawns and grounds in college.

Other Applied Colleges

Zakir Hussain College | B.A. (H) Economics

Cleared the cut off of North campus colleges. So opted for one of them.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being brutally honest I don't think that the course contributes a lot to our preparation for the real world but it teaches us very new things which I like. The course might not be very helpful in our real life preparation or the preparation for the real world but at the same time it enhances our knowledge and teachers as about various new things so I am satisfied with my course and whatever the curriculum includes I like it

In term of relevance I'll say that there are many topics which should not be taught as they are way too old and contradicting in modern times. New tumes problems and solutions should be taught in replace focusing on present.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are generally placed with an average package of 7-8 lakhs for management programs. Companies including the big 4 like EY, KPMG, Deloitte and other reputed companies have visited and many offers have been made. Around 60% of the students get placed in management branch. After getting the degree, I am also planning to appear in the placement opportunities.
