Remarks

After the results of class 12th were out in 2019, we applied at du portal where we got an opportunity to select the colleges for which we were eligible on basis of our percentage in class 12th. The cutoff of my course during the time I took admission was 95 %. Then we were asked to visit the college to complete the application process at a definite slot. I am a General Category student and got purely based on merit without any reservation benefits.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I love Mathematics. Being a Mathaholic, I felt that getting an opportunity to pursue my favourite subject from a prestigious college such as Hansraj is truly worth it. And I am highly satisfied with my decision. I got placed with a great package via Hansraj Placement cell. Everything is just perfect. The best thing is ROI. The fees of DU is minimal, but the placements are high. We have around 6-7 highly Qualified Professors for Mathematics. We get opportunities to attend International Mathematics conferences, participate in various Mathematical events, get guidance to write our own research papers in the field of mathematics. Our teachers and mentors are highly supportive and guide us with everything. I wrote my first research paper which got published in the annual journal under the guidance of my teachers and seniors. I even got prized at inter-college competitions for my research.

Internships Opportunities

I got a lot of diverse internship opportunities at MNCs and startups. I have written a research paper which got published in Journal. I won various Mathematical competitions at different levels including Mathematical Quiz, Pi Logue, paper presentation competition and many more. I have done internships in companies like Fittlyf, Studyroom, Brivet Academy, Zavya and many more.

Placement Experience

The placements at our college are fantastic. I would say that our college has one of the best ROI. The fee is minimal around 22k per year for three years, while the average package offered is 8 LPA. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th Semester. The companies which visited our college include De Shaw, Mc Kinsey, ICICI Bank, Deloitte, Rippling, Bain & Co, Zomato, EY India, Wipro and many more. The highest package offered to my course stands at CTC 20 LPA while the average package is 8 LPA. The lowest package offered is 3.8 LPA. 90% of students who applied for campus placements got placed with a decent package. The profiles offered are Actuarial Scientist, Junior Data Scientist, Analyst, Associate Analyst, Educator and many more. I got placed with CTC 9 LPA via the campus placement cell this year. My plan is to go for an MBA. I am planning to get some work experience and start my own venture.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fees for three years are Rs. 84,300 only. I got INSPIRE Scholarship, awarded by the Government of India in which I got an 80k per annum scholarship for three years. There are a lot of internship opportunities in my sophomore year. Our college has a strong Internship cell that provides quality internships and exposures. As far as jobs are concerned, Hansraj College has an active placement cell. This year, the highest CTC so far from our course has been 18 LPA and the average package stands at 6 LPA. The placements are still going on. I got a package of 9 LPA via placement cell. Companies such as De Shaw, Bain & Co, Mc Kinsey, RipplinG, Deloitte and many more visited our college this year. Many more are still visiting. I am in my final year of undergraduate and I am highly satisfied that I got placed in a decent company via my placement cell. Due to the covid pandemic, placements took place in an online mode but we didn't face any difficulties for placements.

Campus Life

Campus life at Hansraj is amazing. I have a lot of memories with my college friends and I get nostalgic whenever I think about those. Due to Covid Pandemix, we could only get an opportunity to live campus life for one year. After that, everything was switched to online mode. We have a lot of societies and every society participated in fest. The name of the annual fest organised by the Department of Mathematics, Hansraj College is "Identity". The fest is conducted at the end of February. It is truly fun. The college looks so beautiful with so much food fall and game stalls. We have a lot of great singers like Darshan Raval and Arijit Singh at our fests. Actor Shahrukh Khan, the alumnus of our college also visits our college to grace the event. Books and journals are available in the library. In fact, even during the pandemic, the college gave us access to online library sources so that we don't lack resources.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the course curriculum 8/10. I like the labs specially they are modern with well equiped systems. According to me I suggest to improve the course structure to include more practical based learning instead of theory. Overall course is good.

ratio of girls to boys is almost equal and students are well behaved
quality of social interaction is good students are cooperative
college societies are helpful for students and provide good guiding

Dislikes

our campus have 30+ dogs which is sometimes harmful for students
there is a language barrier between students and teachers
EVs faculty is very strict and they are not cooperative

The life at SVC

Likes

The fees is quite affordable, giving you a lot of flexibility for other academic programs/ commitments
The college has a great reputation and brand value
The exposure that the college provides in real life

Dislikes

The infrastructure is old and outdated, has a lot of scope for improvement
The administrative work is very slow and includes too much formalities
Low focus on co curricular activities and sports

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements in the 3rd year of their graduation. Various companies offer multiple roles for placements on our campus like Nation With NaMo, Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture etc. and the no. of offers made usually varies between 250-400 depending on the batch. The average package is around 6.5-7 LPA and the highest usually varies from 13-15 LPA L. Usually 50 percent of the students get placed directly from campus and rest usually pursue some other academic programs or even off campus placements.

the location, nearest metro station ie Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus is at a walking distance of 2-5 mins
the crowd, students are quite decent and friendly.
opportunities, in college itself there are so many opportunities for students to explore through college societies

Dislikes

classes are canceled sometimes without any prior notice which creates a hassle for students coming from far away.

Placement Experience:

the placements of sri venkateswara college are quite good. campus placements are offered for third and fourth year students to the best of my knowledge. the average ctc offered was of 6.43 lacs, highest of 13.4 lpa. many great companies like bain and company, bcg, ey, deloitte, pwc, goldman sachs, accenture, rsa offered placements. in total, 70+ companies came and about 115+ students were placed.

I like the atmosphere in our college. Our college promotes us to think beyond the boundaries.
We have lush green campus in vivek vihar . Our campus is surrounded by parks and we'll managed societies.
The student in our college share a very good mindset . Each student has some unique qualities or the other .

Dislikes

The faculty is not very good here . The teachers don't listen to problems faced by the students .
Our college's online presence is very disturbed. Our college website lags a lot and there are always issues with attendence.
The authorities are not very well managed .

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

The Honest Opinion about Hansraj College

Likes

The College provides great Exposure to everyone.
The Crowd and Societies of the College are always active and energetic.

Dislikes

The whole structure of Admin office is underdeveloped, which utilizes a lot of our precious time.
Many of the College events are ill-organised.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.

The faculty of this college is highly supportive. It is known for their approachable and helpful nature. They are dedicated to teaching. They create a positive environment for students. They guide the students very well and support them highly.
College has a calm and quiet environment. It is surrounded by greenery. It is located in rural area. It is away from noise of city. It helps students to focus on their studies in a stress-free environment. It provides students a peaceful learning.
College provides a good transportion. It is situated nearby a bus depot. The college has its own bus also. It makes easy for students to travel to and from the college.

Dislikes

Infrastructure of the college is worst. There is lack of proper buildings for classes. The canteen area is also not good. There is lack of complete apparatus in physics and chemistry labs. There are so many issues like broken seats and materials.
The college lacks a dedicated placement. There is limited structure support for students. Students have to secure internships and job offers through their personal efforts.
There is absence of societies and extra curricular activities. While the college has some clubs and events. The college does encourage students to engage in activities.

The things i liked in my college is the teching faculty provided. They have a good experience of teaching with mny research papers which have been published by them.
The second best thing is the college amenities like library and society. You will get every book required for you curriculum in the college library incuding few magzines too. The society will help you to develop other soft skills.
The most important part of college life are webinars where we interact with someone big professional like Dr. H. C. Verma sir who once visited in our college aur big faces too. Sports events, skills webinar, Cultural events makes the overall experien

Dislikes

A little bit old infrastructure can a point that is disliked by us and many students. As everyone wants to be a part of a new and good looking college
Lack of hostel facility in the college campus is a major issue. Specially for those students who are not able to accommodate in the Flats/PG due to thier financial status. But the new building will be available with all the facilities within few year

Placement Experience:

Students of 6th sem are eligible for the campus selection process. Our course also have placement programs. Some companies that visit here are TCS, Wipro and few more the no of offers made depend upon the performance of student in the placement cell. The highest package as per my knowledge is 13 lakhs and the average here is 6 lakhs. Sorry for the inconvenience but I don't have any knowledge regarding the job profile given. The placement percentage changes every year depending upon the respective batch. My planning after the course is either placement otherwise my prime goal CSE.

The Honest Opinion about Hansraj College

The whole undergraduate admission process of DU is through CUET, except a few exceptions like Law and Enginnering. The Electronics course require Physics, Chemistry and Maths from CUET, 250 marks each and one must obtain 500+/750 to get this course. Reservation benefits are also available. This was my third preference in the preference list after B.Tech (IT&MI) at CIC and CS Hons at Hansraj, which I could not get due to cutoff difference....Read More

Talks with reality

Hansraj college is one of the best colleges under University of Delhi. I have applied for almost every college which offered my course but my dream college was Hansraj for always. In the first round of counselling session, I got ramjas which was my 5th preference according to my list but I upgraded for the second round and then I got hansraj, my dream college. I chose this because the very first reason was its infrastructure, its academic excellence and our most loved shakrukh khan who also studied from here. I didn't get rejected from any college for my course but the other courses for that I have applied for, maths honours, I didn't get the seat in top colleges due to my low score for that course. CUET is the only and most preferred exam according to which admission is allocated to every individual. Cutoffs depends for every other courses and for the admission, the very first step is you must need to appear in CUET exam with proper subject combination according to ur preferred course. Then after result declaration, you need to prepare preference list of your preferred courses and colleges then according to your score, college is allocated to you then you have to accept the seat allocation and need to make the fee payment. Hansraj is a Hunk College of DU!!

As I said, Hansraj is among the top DU college so cut-offs are obviously very high. For our course the 12th standard minimum percentage required was 90 and a minimum CUET score of 750.
