I choosed IIIT ALLAHABAD over other top NITs and IIITs on the following basis. 1. Small number of batch size which makes it quite enjoyable to attend any Campus event. The batch size for one year is approx 440-450 while in NITs, it is over 1200-1500 due to availability of many other branches. Less students = More Fun 2. Excellent Placement record. As we all know, the placement record is top notch here compared to other colleges. Average of 25 Lakhs is very good even in recession. 3. The infrastructural facilities of hostels is very good here. I got this college through kosaa. This college considers jee mains rank. I chose this college over the others because of its excellent academic and great placement cell. This college is competing with some of the top iits in terms of placement and research. The cutoff for btech in ECE was 8.3k rank and for IT it was 5.4k rank in jee mains. This college takes students through JEE Mains only. The admission process for this college is quite easy. Once your seat is confirmed by kosaa you just have to visit this college and the rest is taken care of by the authorities. You just need to have proper documents. If you have been admitted int hese college through some category then u need to have a proper category certificate. Without proper documents the admission will not happen. The admission process takes about 1-2 hours including the wait time. The admission process is 4-5 days long and you can come on any one of these days and complete your admission. Iiit allahabad is famous for its coding culture which was a major point for me to choose this college over others. The peer group here is very smart people with all being the top 0.5%ilers. comparing with other govt engineering colleges iiita provides better faculty and lab facilities. Admission to iiita for BTech programs is possible through the JEE mains examination only, the cutoff for general candidate is around 99.5%ile in the JEE mains exam. For mtech eligibility is you should have a bachelor degree or equivalent msc degree, clearing GATE is compulsory Cut-off for gate is around 450-550 gate score. Application are accepted from CCMT portal. Reservation based on categories is available according to rank obc and SC st students get some relaxation in rank. GATE is held once a year.
