Likes
- Main reason for its popularity are its good placements. Coding culture of this college is great which can be seen through great placements.
- Also it provides in-depth knowledge about different sectors of information technology.
- Technical societies are great and college provides many hackathons.
Dislikes
- College life is not that great. Students can find it a bit hectic (especially first semister). CGPA depends on two things 1. your preparation for exam 2. how well you can convince TAs to increase marks in rechecking.
- College fests of year 2023-2024 were pale in comparison to fests of other colleges and it's own previous fests. The climate here is quite extreme in both Summer and Winter.
- Campus only has one ground to play cricket, football, hockey and other similar sports. Lots of space in campus is wasted in making useless lawns where no one is allowed to walk.
Course Curriculum Overview
course curiculum mostly is outdated or not managed well. Bussiness informatics has a good curiculum but many subjects of IT are not prepared properly, like web development course was done in total rush, sem 1 has physics which I don't know why it exits in an IT college , dsa is taught in c language and not in cpp and the dsa course focuses more on memorising rather than problem solving.
Internships Opportunities
I have heard that internship opportunities are great here. Many students in third year opt for summer internships. Some hackathons also provide winners internship. My first year has just finished so i don't have a good idea about internships here but this is what I have heard.
Placement Experience
Placements are one of the best things in college. This year due to recession placements are affected but it has happened all over the world. Even after that average of IT is 26lpa and median is 20lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
fees of this college is approx 2.5 lakh per year. It says that it provides state based scholarship but none of my friends got scholarship even after visiting their office. Teaching assistants are given stipends.
Campus Life
Campus life is quite limited here. You can play sports but there is only one ground and the ground can get occupies frequently. Cultural societies are limited and perform averagely. There are no coaches to teach sports or dance or any other cultural activity which even many schools have. There are three fests 1. Effervescence (cultural), 2. Aparoksha (technical), 3. Asmita (sports). Only Asmita was upto the mark, others were a disappointment this year. Hopefully next year fests are performed well. Facilities provided in classrooms are great like projectors and AC in every classroom.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are decent here. Hostels are compulsory. Internet connection is quite good. Electricity and water supply is good. Mess quality is bad currently. It was average before. You will be alloted hostel and room number as soon as your admission process is done in college.
Admission
Admission process is through jee mains and JOSAA / CSAB councelling. After councelling is over the process of admission here is fast and easy. There might be reservation benefits like fees concession of sc/st students.
Faculty
Each class has around 110 students, so faculty-to-student ratio = 1:110 approximately for each class. Some faculties have really good credentials according to the subjects they teach while some don't have credentials in the some of the subjects they teach. Teachers can be interacted through email (many times not useful) or personally meeting them during their office time.
