Course Curriculum Overview

5

I have BA(ASPSM+Economics) and I am very happy with this course and it includes two of my favourite courses- commerce and economics. To start with ASPSM- it includes sales, advertising, personal selling, salesmanship, and marketing management in addition with finance accounting, cost accounting and business law. As for economics- it includes basic intermediate micro and macro economics, developmental economics, economy state and society, etc. Although the course is very insightful and useful, the one thing which the university can improve is to include a better syllabus and level up the examinations.

Internships Opportunities

4

MSCW provides various internships, usually unpaid. Companies offering internships to the students are- EduClouds, WTW, NIIT, Decathlon, Accenture, McKinley Rice, Upto Careers, etc. The roles offered are also diverse, from graphics to content to sales to HR to media management.

Placement Experience

3.5

MSCW offers placements for 3rd year, recent graduates and alumni. The highest package is ?6.5LPA which is considered to be decent for a bachelor's degree. Average package offered is ?4 LPA. Some of the companies that offered placements are- Amazon, BSR & Co., KPMG, Capgemini, Sleepwell, WTW, Hike Education, Wipro, Zomato, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

To start with the fees at the time of admissions- it was ?19,385, which i believe is very affordable for a course with such insights. Although the fees amount gradually increase over the course of 2 years, the difference is not huge. Second year admission fee is ?21,830, making a difference of ?2445 only. As for the third year, the fee further increased to ?22,220, a difference of ?390 from 2nd year and ?2835 from 1st year. Besides this, there is an examination fee less than ?1500 per semester.

Campus Life

4

MSCW's campus life is decent and involves a lot of extracurricular activities. From more than 20 societies, social groups and clubs anyone can apply and enter in any of the societies which makes it more approachable and fun. The most fun part is the even without being member of any society, you can enjoy being a part of any of the societies through its fests, seminars, and various workshops.

Admission

I applied to various colleges and universities, namely- MSCW, Gargi, Miranda, Kalindi college, etc. Out of these, i got first opportunity from MSCW and this was it for me. I chose this and didn't look back ever! Admission Process for the same is quite easy, to start with you need to be 12th pass and appear for CUET UG exam, post the results, you will have an opportunity to choose various different courses and colleges and rank them as per your preference. In the end, as per the college requirements and cut-off you get offer to accept or reject the college allotted to you. If you reject the offer, you may appear in the next rounds of the selections.

Faculty

4

To start with the faculty-to-student ratio it has to be around 1:35 which is makes the teaching more efficient. Faculties of our college are very approachable and are flexible with their work and timings. Personally, I like Ishleen maam (commerce dept) her approach to studies and notemaking in class is something which is different from other faculties.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
