Remarks

My request is not to join in this college because there are no placements. The fee for this education is too high. The university is under construction. The rules in college and hostel are the big problem in this university. The hostels are far away from the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course of 1st year engineers is same for all. The students has average basics. They are trying to improve the communication skills for students in some ways. But there are no PLACEMENTS in this college.

Placement Experience

Definitely this is the big problem in this college. The college is providing the internship for 3rd year students. But the performance they are teaching for final placements interview is not up to the mark. Finally there are no PLACEMENTS in this college.

College Events

Flash mobs on Friday and Saturday. Hostel day once per year. Meraki the college fest once per year . Fresher's day once per year. Sports day once per year. Some concerts and other events from many others.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is high for the middle class people. Every year the fee will increase. The hotel fee will also increase per every year. Don't believe any consultant guys. Consultants are the big cheaters . Better to come on your own and join in this college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship which college is providing is very less. The loan facility is not proper for this college. The consultant is mostly cheating that they will give high scholarship. So not to believe any one if you want really to join in this college.

Campus Life

The activities like sports is average. There is no ground for playing cricket. The labs are new and good. Participation for dance and fashion shows is done by students on event days. The physics and chemistry labs are average.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is not too good. The rules of hostel is big head ache. We should enter the hostel before 7pm . The food is average and it is limited. There is problems like water availability and power. The cleaning and accomadance is average.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

There will be no issues with seniors. No senior will help you in any aspects. No ragging in the campus. There will be separate hostels for seniors and juniors. Seniors and juniors work combined only in any event days.

Faculty

The faculty are about 400 persons for all the years of Engineering students. The way they communicate is good. They way they teach us education is somewhat average. Some of the staff are high experience in teaching.

Likes

The IIT brand value.Great placements and internship opportunities
Competitive peers and lots of ongoing.Great environment
Lush green campus, lots to explore and great infrastructure

Dislikes

Rigorous academics, hectic exam schedules
Hostel infrastructure is quite old and mess food quality is just acceptable.
Professors teaching style can be quite boring as well

Placement Experience:

Placement statistics of IIT Kharagpur is excellent with multiple offers made across software, quant, consulting , analytics and core domain.Major companies like Google, Microsoft, Optiver, Visa,Mastercard visit the campus each year for recruitment.Highest packages are offered by quant companies and can go upto 2 - 2.5 crore per annum

Good Internship Opportunities

Helpful Faculties, the faculties over here helped us through out the course
Good clean and green campus with water supply at different places in the campus
Structured syllabus for industrial readiness in the curriculum

Dislikes

Nothing such I have disliked, but some classrooms projector did not functioned properly
Some time the guards unnecessarily behaved rude which I hated the most

Placement Experience:

The placement cell provides us with training programs and internships and also if the students are careful and disciplined in the classroms they can crack through job interviews. There is mock viva at the end semester and also some on campus hiring companies came in our college.

BCREC a underrated college

Likes

In my batch there are 64 student and there is only 17 girls.so the girl boy ratio is good.
This college has the largest campus of all the college in the West Bengal so college campus is really good
As I am a student of information technology so they are teaching me the course subject and also soft skill subjects that can help me in my placement journey

Dislikes

The college is located in rural area which is the bad thing
The course curriculum is not at the level of IIT NITs as we are studying some subjects which are introduced in the late semester which IIT and it and study in their second or third semester
The third thing I don't like is that the Student of the college discriminate among each other like the local residents who are bengali's day prefered their friend as Bengali

Placement Experience:

The college average placement are 6 lakh per annum and in my branch out of 64 student only 30 God placement but the mistake is of the students because many companies are visiting our colleges but they couldn't find the talent required for the skilled person they required

The college provides a moderately good infrastructure so it is more or less good. However some lab equipments have gotten old so upgrading those would be appreciated.
The teachers and students are very friendly so interacting is very easy. Teachers are mostly experienced and quite knowledgeable in their field of expertise. However the college follows the curriculum suggested by makaut which feels outdated.

Dislikes

The college doesn't give any options to play anything in college in their free time so that's an issue in my opinion. Also college isn't keen on giving NOCs for internships. Also they don't tend to provide funding to projects developed by students.

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

GOOD College at low fees.

Likes

The campus is very big of the college which is about 50 acres and very greenly campus
The events and clubs with sports held in campus is very good and very happening
The placement opportunities in this college is very good and the faculties are very supportive

Dislikes

The infrastructure is bit old and renovates it bit very late which impact in bit difficulty
The senior are very supportive but at the same time they are very strict regarding the discipline which they call it ragging
The location of the college is bit outside of the main city so you can find it bit difficulty in your starting days of living here

Placement Experience:

Placement of my college are quite good with a avg package of 6 to 7 lpa and higest package of 45 lpa and this year the higest package is 75 lpa. The companies visited in my college are infosys, Capgemini,tcs,wipro, Mindtree,IBM, sometimes amazon also.The placement rate of the college is 85 to 95%.

use of projector is very helpful for us .
faculties behaviour is good ,they are quite helpful toward us.

small area campus is that what I do not like
canteen facilities are not good enough .
small space library are not enough for all students

after 6th sem those students who scored above 7 CGPA are eligible for campus placements. name of companies- TCS,Campgemini,Accenture,Delloite etc. average package -320000 70 percent most of students got placed. I want to job at IT sector after getting the degree.

Fair college according to me

Likes

The college management is really up to the mark. I am from the computer science and engineering department.
Good placements according to the amount you pay.
Good environment for coding and development.

Dislikes

There are a lot of extra clubs which are not so functional.
Hostels are good but not up to the mark .
The play ground is available but not inside the campus.

Placement Experience:

Our college provide really good placements if the student is really eligible for employment. There are adequate no. Of companies visiting the campus. Some big companies are - MICROSOFT, LAB VANTAGE, DELTAX, RTCAMP, DELOITTE, ACCENTURE, PERSISTENT SYSTEMS, IBM, MUSIGMA, TIGER ANALYTICS, KEY SIGHT TECHNOLOGIES, KEYENCE, MANIKARAN POWER, TCS, E&Y etc. The highest package is around 20 lpa and the avarage is around 5 - 6 lpa. Placements are better for cse, it and ece. The core branches have mediocre placements.

The library system is good. With many authors and writers available.
The faculty is helpful and coperative.The faculty helps the students in their studies and day to day problems faced in the college.
The classrooms are enough big to accommodate the strength chosen by the faculty.

Dislikes

The labs are not very well equipped. The monitors and PC are back dated versions.
The washrooms are not very well maintained and they stink.
The faculties are not very helpful in the project work and personal academic life of the students.

Placement Experience:

From 4th year students are allowed to sit for placement. Tcs, wipro, Capgemini are the mass recruiters of our college. Other companies visit as well Deloitte, accenture and many more. The average package being is 4 lakhs per annum and the highest being around 10 lakhs per annum.

You can focus on gate, or any other job teachers are helpful no issue of attendance.
easily pass as syllabus is not hard,and get a B.tech degree.

Dislikes

poor infracture, lack of resources such as sports facility.
Less qualified teachers with no PHDs, and familiar with basic knowledge.
No placements, whatever you can do is off campus only

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is perceived as average , lacking specific elements that might make it stand out. In my case, the motivation was not to waste a year by opting for a drop. The flexibility in attendance which let me focus on other interests. The curriculum is same as MAKAUT, and the exam frequency is also controlled by MAKAUT .Areas of improvement is infrastructure and better faculty.

Amazing life of college

I don't applied for other colleges or universities. I gave PUBDET and get a chance to study in presidency. For it I don't feel any regret. In the university admission process is not so difficult. Presidency University: A hope of light but needs a lot of upgradation

1. The reason to choose Presidency University: There are mainly three reason to choose this University. Firstly, it is one of the Autonomuous university in the state. The teachers who teach the course also set the exam question paper, resulting better evaluation of the subject. Secondly, the course work is much more advance than other universities. They offer masters level courses at bachelors level. Also, since there are masters and PhD students in the department, interacting with them provides a lot of insight and practical experience about the subject. Finally, the infrasturce provided by University at afforable price is unbelivable. They provide free hostel to the needy students. And, for girls there is free shuttle service. The other colleges in the state do not provide such facility at all. 2. Other colleges: Apart from that I have applied for admission at Bethune college. But since Presidency University conducts a seprate exam at February and they usually complete the admission at the month of June and I got admitted in the counselling itself, I did not appear for counselling at Bethune college. Since I have got the best possible option at the very begining, I did not look for any other options available. 3. Application process: Presidency University do not conduct entrance test on their own, it is conducted by West Bengal Joint Board and examination is called PUBDET (for Bachelors) and PUMDET (for Masters). You have to keep an eye on the official website for any update on these exam. They usually conduct exam in the month of April or May but the application begins at January or February. The counselling would be conducted by the Joint Board. The application fee is Rs. 500 and if you are selected for counselling, you have to pay Rs. 500 to appear for the counselling.
