Course Curriculum Overview

4

When I was in 12th, I love to study political science. I had a keen interest in that subject and also this is one of the demanding course in Delhi University. So, I decided to opt for political science honours. The papar is theoretical, you have to study theories, arguments, etc of different thinkers and philosophers. Once you understand the concept it will get Easy for you to appear for the exam.

Placement Experience

3

The political science honours usually do not provide placement opportunities. The students of this department mostly planned to pursue either UPSC/ State pcs or Some academic field or may be Law,etc. After college I am planning to appear for UPSC examination

Fees and Financial Aid

Talking about the fee structure of political science student, Last year when I got admission in this college, I have paid 12,750 rupees for one year. This year in 2024 the fee has been increased and it is of 13,250 My registration fee was 1500 Admission fee- 12750

Campus Life

4

My experience with campus life has been vibrant, full of growth, and well-balanced between academics and extracurricular activities. Here's an overview: Social Aspects & Club Involvement: Our campus fosters a dynamic social life, encouraging interaction through various student-run groups and clubs. Library Resources: The library is well-stocked with a diverse collection of books, journals, and online resources. Students have access to both academic textbooks and research journals, making it easier to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in their field. Classroom Infrastructure: Classrooms are equipped with smartboards and projectors, enhancing learning through interactive presentations. The technological setup ensures a more engaging experience and helps in practical learning. Sports & Extracurriculars: There is a wide range of extracurricular activities. Sports like football, basketball, and table tennis are encouraged, and facilities such as courts, grounds, and gym equipment are readily available. Extracurricular activities are varied, from literary events to dance and art competitions. Student Groups & Impact: Student-run social groups play a major role in enhancing the overall campus experience. They bring students together, offer platforms for expression, and build a sense of community, helping everyone stay connected and motivated.

Admission

I got admission in this college through Common University entrance Test (CUET). After this exam you have to fill your preferences. The university will allot the college as per your marks and cut off. So because of the marks I got in cuet and cutt off of the college I got this college.

Faculty

4

The faculty of political science department is quite nice and they are approachable too. There are few teachers whose teaching style is amazing like- Mrs Ambar Ahmed and prof. Chetna Sharma, Ajay sir for economics, etc. I really love their teaching style. We don't left with any doubt after their lecture and if it is the teachers are so nice that they help to make our doubt clear in the class itself. One my teacher, I want want to mention his name.but my experience with him not good. His teachings style is also not upto mark. And sometimes unnecessarily he roast anyone. Talking about exams so, there are 2 semesters in every year in which there are 10 questions and you have to attend any 5, each carrying 18 marks.Questions are open to end, if you have studied well you will definitely get good marks.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
