Campus Life

Every student looks forward to it after high school. Leaving home for further studies and going to college is an all-new experience. You will be exploring a totally new place, making new friends and having the best time of your life. IIT Delhi is the dream of every science student. You get to live what actually is the ideal college life. You are totally independent there. The hostel life, academics, co-curricular, extra-curricular, events, fests, and everything just make it an amazing place to spend 4 years of your life. What I like the most here is that in comparison to other engineering colleges, students take academics here quite seriously.

Placement Experience

All world's biggest company come to IIT D for placement. IIT Delhi placement gets started in the month of December for final year students, Each student can secure one job. Placement Experience

In our medical field there is no placement its so strange that cream of the cream of society from AIIMS hardly get a job of 75000 to 1.25 lac per month job after 10 yr of from 12th Std. In govt job as AP depends on state govt rules we r able to get job which provide a package of 50000-100000/month working patterns is like Monday to Saturday full day , any 1/2 day 24 hrs on call , Sunday have to take round of 1 -2 hrs. Every 3rd or 4th Sunday is also 24 hrs. Just compare with IIT(4yr) & IIM ( around 6 years ) getting packages of 50 lac - 1 cores / yr with 5 days a week working policy.

Entrance Preview

Its AIIMS PG Entrance test which is going to conduct twice yearly in MAY & NOV in nov 2013 exams i got all india rank of 35 & in counseling i got O&G. Its india's no. 1 ranking college in medical field. Also i had given a NEET PG in dec 2013 but its results were quiet late 7 counselling process extended ut to march 2014. As my choice was md medicine, i was eligible for that in almost every college in India but i didn't change. The reason is i love the work.

Admission

The admission process is fairly hassel free. The admission procedure of filling up admission forms and fee payment for the same takes place online as well as offline. Following which the cut off list is released based on merit only. The selected students are then called for an interview. Those students who passes these two stages are then called to fulfill admission formalities like fee payment after which the process is complete.

Faculty

Mostly the faculty is knowledgeable and know the subject. There are some who aren't that great but over all the faculty is good. Also they are helpful when it comes to doubts and encourage interaction in class. The professor's are usually present that is very less absenteeism when it comes to the faculty. All in all the faculty is good mostly but the standards can be raised higher.

Faculty

They are good at their teaching faculty (in North American usage) or academics (in British usage) are the academic[1] staff of a university: professors of various ranks, lecturers, and/or researchers. The term faculty in this sense is most commonly used in this context in the United States and Canada, and generally includes professors of various ranks: adjunct professors, assistant professors, associate professors, and (full) professors, usually tenured (or tenure-track) in terms of their contract of employment. In British English "faculty" usually refers to a division of a university, but not to the employees.

Internships Opportunities

Internships for professional careers are similar in some ways but not as rigorous to apprenticeships for professions, trade and vocational jobs,[3] but the lack of standardization and oversight leaves the term open to broad interpretation.[4][5] Interns may be college or university students, high school students, or post-graduate adults.

I came through the PGCET and it is a NBA recognized college there is an equal importance to studies and sports and for Technical workshops. Always there is a scope for creativity, college staff inspires students to go and do some AIEEE Standard research work and to publish the papers which is a learning curve for the students. College management arranges technical seminars i attend on Android technology for couple of times. Also it leverages the confidence in the students by conducting competitive exams in the college.

Campus Life

Its cool and not so problematic. Almost 2:3 ratio will be the gender ratio. Strictly no ragging in the college. Have sufficient computer labs, sports will be conducted. Yearly basis robotics seminars, and monthly basis internal seminars are quite common in this college. Actively participates in National Holidays and follows mandatory holidays. All religion festivals are equally celebrated, frequently management invites political and Department officials to review, audit and to share the events in the college.

Admission

It was a centralized exam by the DTE, and I got this college in the CAP round the admission process involved selecting list of top 10 colleges and selecting among them hence it was difficult to get in through the list easily as there was negative marking involved it was tough to score and hence it was a tough year.

Faculty

The faculty of the college was very good but they were not good enough to enlighten management students. They focused more on exams and. marks instead of knowledge and practical knowledge for them academics only mattered the most. Hence it was very difficult for the weaker students to cope up with the admissions.

College Events

The college had one annual technical fest called Biovision, were prominent scientists from Centre for cellular and molecular biology were invited. 2-3 months prior to the event, all the students from lifesciences faculty were expected to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations. Selected topics were called for presentations on the day of biovision. Best poster and oral presentation were awarded with prizes. I was one of the lucky students to get the Best oral presentation award in Biovision, 2007. The college also had annual cultural meet, where the subject and college toppers were awarded with gold medals.

Admission

The notification was released on Osmania university website and in the local newspapers. The application form was available at the college. Alumni/Alumna

Pride of the institute. Upasna Taku(Founder MobiKwik (company)), Amit Boni(General Manager India Motorola Mobility), Anindya Ghose (Professor at NYU Stern), Manav Garg(Founder EKA Software) Anupam Varghese(VP EKO India) and so many many others. It is a moment of pride when I open Forbes and find an article dedicated to my alumnus and her company(Upasna Taku). Good institutes become great institutes when their Alumni turn back and give a heave to their alma mater. NITj has unfortunately been pathetic in maintaining the Alumni relations. There is no will from the admin or faculty towards this front, there are no appreciation messages for the high achievers from the college side and the alumni meets are poorely managed, advertised and scheduled.

Faculty

Every department has a mix of permanent and ad-hoc faculty members. Each department has a few great professors who are instrumental in shaping up the future careers (In Instrument engineering it was Dr A.K. Jain, Dr. Dilbag SIngh, Dr. KS Nagla and many more Drs, other departments have there share of cool professors). The ad-hoc faculty members keep coming in and going out so not much can be said about them. If you are lucky you can end up having some dedicated ad hoc faculty member. However some of them will turn out to be the ones who have no academic aspirations and basically ruin the entire subject.

Campus Life

As you know, Haldia is situated near the sea side so you can estimate wht will be climate. Gender ratio is 70:30 (not sure). College has a massive campus of fourty nine acres which is comprising of all the facilities. Cricket, football, volleyball, basketball tournaments are held every year amoung all the branches. And the other sports are held in the month of January as sports week. Laboraties are good. Aeromodelling, Hacking, Programing, Robotics events, workshops, seminars are conducted throughout the year.

Faculty

Almost all the faculties of HIT Haldia are passed out from IIT,Jadavpur and NIT. So there is no doubt on their capability. It has around two hundred fifty faculties of teacher student ratio of 15:1. They always encourage us to attain maximum classes and completes syllabus since questions come from university, any how we have to complete. They even help students over phone and during weekends too since maximum faculties resides inside college campus in faculty hostel.

Honestly the placement is given to only some of the students & which includes the relative of college staffs here talent does not matter but marks do thats the thing i really dont like & yes some of job opportunity given by wipro TCS most of Computer science student gets lucky & get the job too but that too in an exceptional case so i'm gonna try off campus cause i really not thinking that a job will be offer to m by our college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college fees are damn low cost & offers a great value for ur money the admission fee costs around 85K (in rupees) which includes the hostel fee too & without hostel it costs around 73K which is really great for b.tech institute & for TFW the fees are eventually lower its only 45K (with hostel) which is not expensive by any mean. the hostel charge is 12k per year. So when its comes to fees its great & yeah its affortable.

Campus Life

Mentioning about the extracurricular activities, there is ample scope for development of all kinds of skills. The college provides platform to showcase and improve in all ECA including sports, music, dance, dramatics and what not. Various competitions are organized round the year by the college ECA societies. The campus life is pretty good with fun come studies. There is huge diversity, students from different parts of the country as well as international students can be seen here. The gender ratio is also perfect. Since morning batch is for all boys, the evening batch has more girls than boys.

College Events

The Annual fest Xavotsav of this college is very famous in the entire company. It attracts students from all the parts of the country and students of top colleges as participants. Eminent personalities also visit for performing in the college in this fest. There is a huge crowd during the fest days ad a lot of energy can be seen among the college students.

Annually there will be 4 fest in UVCE. After few days of the beginning of the academic year, KAGADA (annual tech paper presentation event) takes place. Soon after KAGADA, INSPIRON fest which is organised by Placements team will be held. These two are the major fest in the first half of the year. IMPETUS,a fest organised by IEEE UVCE will be held in the month of April. FIESTA, the only cultural fest of UVCE will be the last major fest. ESPORTIVA, annual sport event will be held in February every year. All these fest will be organised by the students of UVCE. Along with these, some small events will be going on in and around the college.

Exam Structure

There will be 2 must attend internals for each semester. At times, an optional third internals will be held. Sem exams run under strict regulation. The labs are regular. Labs are well equipped and maintained good. Additionally, one must consider the fee structure. It is extremely low compared to other engineering colleges. We need to pay exam fees separately at the end of semester.

Faculty

The faculties in the college are helping in nature. The faculties have decent knowledge and they generally assist in all the projects and researches. However, one needs to put in extra effort to talk to the HoD's who are too busy. But once you do, they are more than willing to help you in your pursuit. However, just like any other college there are a few who do not meet up to the expectations. The overall quality of the faculty is above average.

Campus Life

Gender ratio is decent overall. The computer science department has as close as 1:1 ratio. however, some others like Mechanical and civil fall behind for as low as 1:20.Campus is very lively. One can always find something interesting happening inside the campus. There are people from all around the country in almost all the branches. Foreigners are also present in large numbers.
