Campus Life

In our college we were celebrating different festivals. We were also organising business fairs to understand the real market world. Also we were having a annual function named "Student of the Year" , in which there were three different rounds with different kind of activity. Also college was giving fresher's party for the first year students and fairwell party for the last year students. There was a NSS group in the college. In college's library we were getting so many books also books of our course also provided by the college library. So, we do not need to buy books from outside the college.

Faculty

The ratio was 30:70 for the marks. As the examination was held every six months which was for 70 marks and the rest 30 marks are for assignments. We were getting assignments for every subject with deadline, we need to complete the assignment and submit if within the due date. Our faculty were very supportive, friendly and helping in nature.

Fees and Financial Aid

Ewing Christian College (ECC) offers an affordable fees structure for most of the courses, professional and vocational courses excluded. For Bachelors in Arts (B.A.) I paid fees in yearly system and it was somewhere around 7500-8000/year. It included everything the tuition fees, caution fees, admission, labs, and every other fees. Basic fees is same for almost every student, there may be some concession for chistian minorities and some specific categories. Students may get almost every UP and National Scholarship. Students can also get NCC, Olympiads, sports, university games and every other scholarship there is to get.

Faculty

Faculty to Student Ratio is : 5-10 teachers per department aka 150 students, teachers are approachable and super helpful with genuine queries I loved the Department of Psychology, as psychology student I spent most of my time in psychology department, teachers are super helpful and understanding. There are Main semester exam: 1 Exam/Paper, other than that there is an internal assesment exam almost a month before the semesters.

Placement Experience

I am a recent graduate in computer science with specialization in artificial intelligence and machine learning. i took admission in CU just because of their excellent placements for the computer science students and what i feel is during my journey they provide i'll not say 100% placements that they guys claimed but yes the placement is really good. the average package is of 7-8 lpa and they offered placements globally like in hyderabad, pune, banglore, noida that are considered as best places to work in IT sector. but in my last year i.e 4th year i have been offered a position of software engineer intern in gurugram and that was off campus so i grabbed that opportunity. and there is one policy of chandigarh university if you opt for off campus placement then you get debarred from the TPP campus placements of chandigarh university and you will not be able to sit in the campus placements of chandigarh university. rest overall the campus placement is good.

Internships Opportunities

Chandigarh university offers a wide range of internship opportunities especially for students in computer science and AIML. The placement cell regularly share openings from reputed companies along with startup and research opportunitues. During my time at CU i got selected in 2 internships:- 1. Bobble Ai- as a software engineer intern 2. Hatchnhack solutions pvt ltd- as a full stack developer intern Both internships were paid and provided me hands on experience in various frontend and backend technologies along with web scraping and automation.

The annual cultural festival named Ankur is usually held in March-April. Events like indoor games and outdoor games, athletics, dance, singing competitions, fashion shows, and informal games. In a library book range, has good coverage of core engineering books like electronics, computer science, mechanical, and civil. cse, CAT, GATE, GRE LIMITED BUT Present international journals and also a large number of IEEE papers can be accessed online via the college network. The library timing is 10 am to 9 pm. Students can borrow 3-4 books at a time, lending period usually 2 weeks. The latest edition is missing some need for more diverse reading material and fiction. novel, journal, new edition books

Course Curriculum Overview

Rating:7 out of 10 core subjects like dsp, vlsidesign, embedded system and wireless communication were good alignment with electronics and hardware industry requirements. project component A compulsory major project in the final year was a deciding factor as ,i wanted practical exposure alongside theory. Weakness: limited focus on latest technologies such as ai /ml cloud computing and python -based data analysis within the core syllabus. industry collaboration is still not present in cuk.few mandatory internships or live project integrated into the curriculum.

The faculty here is very good and have soo much knowledge and experience which helps students a lot. They guide every student through the internships ,exams and everything. My favourite lecturer is vc rao who teaches internal business. His teaching very interesting and he not only teaches the things in syllabus but also teaches things from outside which helps students gain more knowledge and he is very knowledgeable. I don't have particular to lecturer that i dislike because most of the lectures that I've known are very experienced and supportive to the students. There are total of 6 sems in this 3 years of degree like 2 sems per years and before each sem there will be two mids. Mid exams are not so difficult and For sem exam I would rate 7 out 10 for difficultly and pass percentage is some what difficult.an average student can get around 5- 7 cgpa and the highest cgpa given till date was 8.5.

Campus Life

They don't hels many fests. There will be fest only for freshers and farewell party and the conducted fests are not so good. The library contains various books related to our course and other knowledgeable books which is very helpful for the students. The facilities in the classrooms are soo good they provide a/c everydag and has a digital screen board and a white boards. The extra curricular activities provided by the college is very less and they don't have any clubs for the students to join. There are no social group, clubs or student portals

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculam is well thought of. Every year our Director Dr.Sreeram Gopalkrishnan takes feedback from the faculty and the students and tries to make out diferent subjects and what can help the students in better learning. The curriculam is made remembering the fact that it needs to be applied in real world and students are taught the course with the idea of making sure they are prepared for the real world and the industry of media. The examination is done with utmost sincerity and questions are made such that the students have to think about the subject and what they have been taught in the subject the whole semester.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is 1:150. While the ratio might sound a lot but in reality, when you are in the class it works out. The faculty is very approachable and answer questions with utmost professionalism. All of them are extremely professional and have experience of the field. Along with that they are extremely knowledgeable and provide with quick and satisfying answers. In terms of exams, There is a semester end exam every semester and a mid semester exam of about three hours with three subjects all together. Other than that the markings are done on the basis of internal assignments.

The faculties are highly knowledgable at Ishan. B.Com.( NEP) is a three year course which is divided into six semesters and external exams are conducted twice a year. 25% marks are of internal and remaining 75% are of externals. Faculty is really supportive and continuously guides for the future. The teaching method is really interesting as real life case studies were discussed in class.

My overall experience at Ishan is really good. I have attended a seminar DigiUdaya which was based on cryptocurrency, represented college in various inter college competitions after attending the workshop Vyparniti which was based on startups. I have participated in cultural events like Kshitiz which is the cultural fest of college, also in other academic events like debate competition. One great thing about college is that communication skills classes are also conducted in our college regularly which has helped me alot.

In our college the faculty is highly educated with high expereince and doctrate degrees. They are friendly and approachable. The methods of teaching are really good, all are lectures are supported with powerpoint presentations and case studies fom real life and I always had good learning experience as our faculty encourages higher participation. Internals are conducted in college before the university exams. The curriculum of B.Com.(NEP) is relevant and also includes skilll development course in it.
