STUDENT SATISFACTION RATINGS

Life at Red Bricks: A constant inspiration to grow!

Fees -

The fee structure is most certainly on the higher end. However, loan options are easily available at reasonable rates, which most students opt for. The fee was 17 lakhs (in 2015), which covered tuition and hostel expenses (excluding food). This can further go up, if one chooses to take up the student exchange program. There are also a few scholarship options available.

Course Curriculum -

The PGP course is a full-time 2year course, primarily designed through a case study methodology. Class discussions are primarily case-based. Students are expected to go through the concepts/theory and cover the pre-read prior to the class discussion, to make the most of any course. To top it up, all courses have surprise quizzes post the regular class hours, which are impossible to predict. Amidst this, students are expected to prepare for summer internships and there is a plethora of industry-competitions that one could participate in. Qualifying the first-year as rigorous and demanding would be a sheer under-statement. This is what teaches us to push our limits, work efficiently and effect...

Fees -

The fee structure is very reasonable and the fee includes all the expenses in the campus including mess, hostel, academics etc. The only extra expenses are the day to day ones like canteen and stationery etc. All the amenities including stationery etc are available within the campus and you don't need to step out unless you are going out for a party.

Course Curriculum -

The case-based methodology is followed across the courses and the students have to read up the course material and analyzed the case before going into the class. The case is discussed in the class and the faculty provides their insight. The students are asked to participate in the discussions and provide their own inputs basis the analysis they have done and also basis the experience they have had in their respective jobs/fields.

Mine was 16 lakhs for 2 years (8 lakhs p.a.). This covered the tuition, books and hostel expenses. Food was around 8k per month. Students can easily get loans to meet their educational expenses. Fees had to paid thrice every year over the course of 2 years. There were decent scholarships available for selected category of students.

Course Curriculum -

The course curriculum was good and it was a complete case pedagogy. Most of the cases were picked from Harvard Business School. Some of the cases were written by current professors to bring in more of an Indian colour. Also, the new Director is trying to get more of industry professionals to take up certain courses to keep the curriculum relevant.

It is expense in comparison of other MBA programs in India. at 23 lakhs it is in-fact most expensive. However, as it is compared with other international institutes, it is one of the most cost-effective destinations. It was 12 lacs for the 2 years during my time. It is a reasonable figure to sustain the infrastructure and faculty. Moreover, within 2 years of graduating, we are able to pay off the loan. Nobody is denied admission due to lack of funds.

Course Curriculum -

Most of the exams are case based. Students are given case and they are supposed to analyse that and right an assessment or answer given questions within 2-3 hours.Case-based curriculum inspired by Harvard Business School. This can be a strength as it models real life situations very well and borrows from multi-dimensional subject learning. We are expected to read the theory ourselves prior to class. We will not be spoon-fed.

The fee structure is feasible Rs 15 lakhs for the two years. This covers the academic courses and the hostel. However the canteen and mess costs are not covered in this fee structure. All academic material required is provided by the institute case mats, textbooks.

Course Curriculum -

The course curriculum is probably one of the hardest in the world and that's not an exaggeration. The first year is a common course for everyone with courses in all disciplines finance, marketing, operations, HR, systems, economics. You are allowed to freely choose your electives during the second year from any of these disciplines. In addition there are specialized courses designed for entrepreneurs, leadership, social responsibility and many more.

"Life at Red Bricks: A constant inspiration to grow!"

The first step was to bell the CAT 2012. Amidst job responsibilities, most of the preparation happened in the last one month prior to CAT. But, the greater challenge is converting a call – especially since all shortlisted candidates are most certainly smart, well-read and with great career profiles. Most of the IIM interviews are a two-stage process with GD/Written, followed by PI. Some might even ask to submit an SOP beforehand. An honest answer to the basic HRQs and a clarity on why one wants to pursue an MBA is a must. Being updated on the latest news, and having a personal point of view on major events is appreciated. I had calls from all 13 IIMs and managed to convert them. IIMA was m...

"Bestest college in the world"

I wanted to do an MBA to gain holistic knowledge about the business environment and, hence, I appeared for CAT. I prepared for around 4-5 months and devoted around 2 hours daily for the same. I took coaching from TIME, NOIDA and the faculty there helped me a lot in cracking the exam. I had final admission offers from 13 B-schools including all the IIMs, MDI, FMS, IIFT etc. I chose IIMA because of the world-class faculty, pedagogy and the alumni network. The 2 years I spent there have been the best years of my life.
