AILET 2020 Cut off (Expected), Previous Year Cut Off and Trends

    National Law University Delhi releases AILET Cut off after the declaration of results. The law entrance examination is scheduled for May 3, 2020 in pen-paper based mode. The results will be released online at nludelhi.ac.in.

    AILET 2020 will be conducted on a single day for B.A.LLB.LLM and PhD programs but results and cut off released seperately by the conducting body. It is the minimum marks required for getting shortlisted to the programs offered at NLU Delhi campus. The cut off is announced according to the following candidate’s categories- General, SC, ST, PwD and Kashmiri Migrants. 

    Latest Update: Application Form for AILET 2020 is available from January 15, 2020. Candidates willing to appear for the test can register till March 31, 2020.

    AILET Cut Off is dependent on the following parameters:

    • Total number of applicants appearing in the All India Law Entrance Exam. 
    • Performance and average marks obtained by the candidates.
    • Intake and availability of seats to the various programs offered by NLU Delhi.
    • Category the candidate belongs to and Number of applicants in that category.

      AILET Cut off trends have been varied in the past few years. Year 2016 saw a remarkable high cut off of 105 for general category.

      • Subsequent years observed a drop of 15 marks in the minimum cut off marks across all categories, with 89 being the cut off for general category in 2017.
      • Cut off for 2018 and 2019 were around 72 for General category, considerably lower than previous years.

      NLU Delhi will hold the law entrance exam (LLB, LLM and PhD) on May 3, 2020. Post that, the results will be available online at nludelhi.ac.in with the official cut off for UG and PG Programs.       The aspiring candidates of AILET can go through the previous years’ AILET Cut off to get an idea of the AILET Cut off trends. Below is a table that gives the AILET Cut off for both BA LLB & LLM Course for the past three years.

      Each year, the participation in the law entrance examination increases by a substantial percentage. The number of aspirants appearing for AILET 2019 was far higher than it was in 2018. Therefore, the cutoff trends will automatically be on the upsurge. 

      Note: The trend of higher cut off is more so applicable for UG Program and even for PG candidates. However, since the number of candidates for LLM will not be as much as LLB, we do not expect a surge in the cut off for LLM.

      After the cut offs for each program will be released, NLU Delhi will begin sending provisional admission letters to the shortlisted candidates. These candidates are then required to attend AILET Counselling as per the respective schedule defined by the law school.
