Ques. What is your CLAT or AILET strategy?

● Top Answer By Janvi Bhambri on 14 Jan 21

Ans. AILET is an examination where you need good speed with excellent conceptual knowledge. A good strategy and smart work plan while preparing can really help you clear the exam.  Strategy: The very first step is to get familiar with each subject and topic asked in each section of AILET. The next step is to have a time table. It will help you give a head start. Do not overstress yourself. You can follow the pattern given below with little alteration to suit your personal requirement. Mock Test – Start attempting 1 mock test per week followed by a thorough analysis of the questions asked and your answers. You can do it along with your CBSE preparation. This will help you to determine your weak and strong areas. Once you have given a few mocks, only after that you can be in a position to come up with your strategy. Initially, you should emphasize the time management part and not scoring.  When you take the mocks, you will be inclined towards attempting the sections first that you have always preferred over the rest, and taking your strong subjects first will help you get in the flow and will be a morale booster too. Irrespective of the order in which you take the paper, you will still have to divide the time wisely among the five subjects according to your weak and strong subjects.  You can follow the following pattern. General knowledge 10-12 minutes English  25 minutes Legal reasoning 30-35 minutes Logical reasoning 30 minutes Mathematics  18-20 minutes First, take a few mocks and analyze your weak areas. Do not worry about losing your marks based on negative marking. It will help you to have a fair idea of the time you need per section and make alterations accordingly. This exercise will make you realize the number of questions you can attempt without being hassled by the negative marking. Keep your primary focus on Time management and reading speed.Read more

Ques. What approach (books, material, etc.) should I take to crack the AILET 2020?

● Top Answer By Arushi Anand on 14 Jan 21

Ans. The ILET exam can be cracked if you follow a good approach and smart study plan. Approach: When you start preparing, make a list of all topics that are covered in the AILET exam subject-wise. The next step is to follow the C.A.T strategy.Divide your chapters as per your level of understanding into very hard, hard, and easy chapters. Try to do the difficult topics first thing in the morning. Pick one chapter of each subject, every week. Try to cover those chapters conceptually and practice nearly 150 Qs per week per chapter, you'll have 5 topics covered per week if you follow this strategy. Application-based questions will improve your speed and you’ll learn new concepts and methods to solve questions. Also, you need to solve AILET level questions. For the better practice of English, you can follow the CAT MBA questions. After 3 months you'll observe your syllabus is over if you follow your timetable religiously. When your all concepts are clear, we get to the part of mocks and analysis. Give 2 mocks per week for AILET and analyze each and every mistake that you are doing. You will observe the minute details of the question when you analyze them. Write down your mistakes in a notebook and revise them daily. So that you won’t make the same mistake. Your practice should also be divided into two phases: Phase I -Basic level of questions Phase II - High-level questions (for AILET specific preparation). In AILET mocks you'll see a lot of new types of questions, write all the new concepts in a notebook. Revise your mistakes and the new concept every day. Books and Material: Quant - R.S. Agarwal's Quantitative Aptitude and your coaching material will be enough for quant.  English- For grammar, refer to S.P. Bakshi’s Objective English for competitive exams and Pearson’s Guide to CLAT by Harsh Gagrani.  Logical reasoning- For analytical reasoning as well as verbal logic, RS Agarwal’s Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning, and Person’s Guide to CLAT by Harsh Gagrani will be helpful.  Legal Aptitude- This is the toughest section of AILET. Concentrate on your legal classes and note down each and every important aspect of the concept. A.P. Bhardwaj’s Guide to Legal Aptitude is preferable. GK- You can followGK TODAY, MonthLE by LegalEdge ProTalent's YT channel for monthly compilation. Static GK- For static GK, your coaching material and Lucent’s Manual for GK will be enough. The books mentioned above have a lot of AILET specific questions. You can refer to the question from basics.Read more

Ques. Which exam is tougher to crack: CLAT or AILET?

● Top Answer By Jyotshna Ranjan on 14 Jan 21

Ans. AILET is a tougher exam compared to CLAT. AILET is held by the National Law University of Delhi while the CLAT exam is for admission in NLUs, IP University, and many more. Reasons: The number of applicants for the AILET exam is more than for CLAT. Thus, the difficulty level and the competition increases.  Number of seats: 80 seats are offered in the AILET exam while in CLAT, there are around 2538 seats in which 724 seats are available in CLAT PG. The seats are divided according to the reservation policy of the NLUs.There is only one participating institute under AILET, that is, the National Law University, Delhi. AILET is a cut-throat examination and chances to get a seat in NLU Delhi is minimal. Around 17000 candidates apply for the exam for only 80 seats thus, the difficulty level gets higher every year.  In CLAT, almost 18 students compete for a seat whereas, in AILET, there are around 203 students competing for a seat in NLU, Delhi. Although the same students who apply for AILET also apply for CLAT, the competition to get admission in NLU Delhi is tough, since it is one of the top 5 National Law Universities in India.Read more
