    AILET 2020 Exam Pattern was earlier released by NLU Delhi in its official brochure. The exam pattern remains same with the only difference in mode of paper. Now, AILET 2020 will be conduted in RPT mode (Remote Proctored Test) on August 18 pertaining to the current health situation of the nation. NLU Delhi has requested NTA to administer the paper.     Paper structure is different for B.ALLB, LLM and PhD programs. Thus it is necessary to check AILET Exam Pattern carefully before starting preparation. The difficulty level of the exam can be understood by the fact that each question in AILET is granted less than 1 minute. AILET 2020 Syllabus is not specified by NLU, Delhi but it is similar to that of CLAT.

    • Mode Of Examination- Exam will be conducted remotely by NTA. Candidates will have to answer all Obejctive questions using their personal systems in the given time. Read more about AILET 2020 RPT Exam Day Guidelines
    • Number and Type of Questions- Candidates have to attempt a total of 150 MCQ type questions for B.A.LLB program and LLM entrance exam while PhD candidates have to attempt 100 MCQ based questions.
    • Duration of Exam- A total of 90 minutes are provided to attempt the question paper. Duration of exam is same for all the programs in AILET. Medium of examination will be English only. Candidates must adhere to the time limit and try to finish the paper in time
    • Marking Scheme- Each correct question will carry 1 mark in AILET while for an incorrect answer 0.25 marks will be deducted.

    B.A.LLB is a highly popular five year duration course at NLU Delhi, selection fow which is done through AILET. Thousands of students compete for 80 seats offered in the program. Thus a full fledged understanding of AILET 2020 exam pattern is necessary. The paper is divided into five sections viz.

    AILET 2020 LLM Exam Pattern

    AILET 2020 LLM Exam Pattern

    LLM is a post graduate program for a duration of one year. AILET question paper for LLM comprises of 100 objective type questions and an essay type answer on the assigned topic. the objective questions carry 100 marks and 50 marks are kept for essay. The paper will cover the following sections:

    Securing admission to PhD program in NLU Delhi is a herculian task. Candidates have to qualify AILET written test comprising of 100 MCQ questions in 90 minutes. The written test is merely qualifying in nature and marks will not be considered in final selection.  

    Questions are framed around Research Methodology and Legal Research Aptitude. Candidates securing 50% marks (40% for SC/ST) out of 100 in the written test will be asked to submit their research proposal. The proposal can be on the topic which candidates want to pursue a Ph.D on.

    • The research proposal shall contain:
      • Title
      • Statement of problem and background information on the subject
      • Research questions, hypothesis, and methodology

    Ques. Is there any time limit to attempt AILET 2020?

    Ans: Yes, candidates will be given 90 minutes to answer all the questions. B.ALLB has 150 objective type questions while LLM candidates have to attempt 100 objective and 1 essat type question in the same time duration. 

    Ques. What is the mode of AILET Exam? Is it Online or Offline exam?

    Ans: As per the official AILET Exam Pattern, the examination will be a remote proctored test.

    Ques. What is the syllabus for BA LLB (Hons.) course?

    Ans: The syllabus will cover topics from English, General knowledge and Current affairs, Legal Aptitude, Reasoning and Elementary Mathematics with numerical ability.

    Hi Aakash, you can check the eligibility criteria for LLB, LLM and P.hD separately as explained below:

    • For LLB Course, 50% aggregate marks in class 12 for General category (30% aggregate marks for Reserved Category in class 12).
    • For LLM Course, LLB or an equivalent degree from a recognized university with not less than 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates)
    • For Ph.D., LLM degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD).

    Thus, now, you may check whether you are eligible for the concerned course or not.
