    AILET Counselling begins after the declaration of results. NLU Delhi is responsible for publishing the results and organising the counselling in June 2020. The procedure is conducted in offline mode, where the shortlisted candidate have to report at NLU Delhi campus as per the scheduled time and date. The counselling process is done on the basis of AILET 2020 Cut Off and Merit List. Candidates forming part of the list will receive their admission letter on the registered Email ID and speed post from conducting body.

    Latest Update: NLU, Delhi has released Application Form for AILET 2020 on January 15, 2020. Candidates can Register themselves till March 31, 2020.

    • This year, AILET 2020 is scheduled for May 3 and the results along with the 1st merit list are expected to release in the 3rd week of May 2020.
    • Shortlisted candidates are required to remit a requisite fee on or before the last date. Failing to do so will result in cancellation of provisional admission.
    • Once counselling and admissions based on merit list are processed, NLU Delhi will issue another list of shortlisted candidates for AILET Spot Counselling Round 2020.

    The process of counselling is conducted separately for each law program i.e. BA LLB (Hons), LLM and Ph.D. Report at the venue at least 30 minutes before the counselling commences.

    Candidates whose names are placed in the merit list needs to report for counselling with the following documents:

    AILET Counselling Documents for B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)/ LLM/ PhD Programs

    The results for all the programs will be released in May/ June after the law entrance exam will conclude. Listed below are documents to carry in orgional as well as their duplicates (atleast 2 copies) at the time of counselling:

    • AILET Call Letter issued by NLU Delhi
    • AILET 2020 Admit Card
    • AILET 2020 Scorecard
    • Self -Attested 10th and 12th Class Certificate and mark sheets
    • Self- Attested BA LLB mark sheet (for LLM and PhD programs)
    • Self- Attested LLM mark sheets (for PhD Program)
    • A valid Research Proposal (for PhD program)
    • Self -Attested Character Certificate from the school last attended
    • Caste Certificate signed by concerned authority
    • Self -Attested Transfer Certificate
    • Six Passport size photographs
    • Bank Demand Draft drawn in favour of “The Registrar, National Law University Delhi” that is payable at New Delhi

    Ques. Is NLU Delhi responsible for holding AILET Counselling?

    Ans. Yes, the National Law University Delhi is responsible for the entire AILET exam. From setting the eligibility, releasing the application form to providing final admissions to NLU Delhi campus, the law school handles it all.

    Ques. Is AILET Counselling organized in offline mode or online mode?

    Ans. The mode of counselling and admissions is purely done via offline mode. By this, it means that a candidate is required to report at NLU Delhi campus and participate in the counselling in person.

    Ques. Is there any reservation policy defined by the law university?

    Ans. The conducting body releases ‘First Merit List of Selected Candidates’ who are eligible to participate in the counselling procedure. The list is prepared according to candidate’s category and will have the following details on it:

    • Candidate’s name,
    • Roll Number,
    • Parent’s Name,
    • Date of Birth,
    • Gender and
    • Marks obtained

    Ques. How are AILET scores calculated?

    Ans. The law entrance examination has 150 MCQs segregated in five sections. And there is no provision of negative marking. Hence, on the basis of total correct answers, final scores are calculated.

    Ques. How many seats are being offered by NLU Delhi for each of the program?

    Ans. For this year, NLU Delhi is offering around 80 seats for LLB program and 40 seats for LLM Program.

    Ques. What is the meaning of Spot Counselling in AILET or AILET Spot Counselling?

    Ans. After the completion of 1st slot, NLU will release another list of all the qualified candidates for spot counselling only if seats remain vacant. The spot counselling is expected to start from June 2020. It is considered to be the last round of the admission process. This counselling will be valid only for those candidates whose name is in the waiting list category. Selected candidates have to deposit their admission fee before the due date to confirm their seats.
