How to Apply for GCET Counselling 2026?

Goa B.E. admissions follow an in-person, offline application process. There is no fully online seat-allocation portal; eligible students physically collect forms, submit documents at designated centres, and then attend the admission round at DTE Porvorim to select their preferred seat. Registering for counselling is mandatory — your JEE Main rank alone does not guarantee a seat.

Round 1 (June 22–26, 2026) is now complete. If you are participating in Round 2, verify that your name appears in the Merit List published June 18, 2026, and carry all original documents to DTE Porvorim on the notified Round 2 date.

Step 1: Obtain and Fill the Application Form

Collect the DTE Goa prospectus and application form from the DTE office at Porvorim or from one of the designated submission centres. Step 4: Attend the In-Person Admission Round

Step 5: Confirm Your Seat and Report to College

After selecting a seat, you receive an allotment letter on the spot or within a short time. Pay the required seat acceptance / deposit fee as instructed, and report to your allotted college within the reporting deadline with original documents. Failure to report by the deadline forfeits your seat, even if you have the allotment letter. Seats forfeited due to non-reporting are redistributed in the next round.

How to Select Your Seat at the Admission Round

Unlike online counselling systems, Goa B.E. admissions involve an in-person seat selection session. The guide below applies to every round you attend at DTE Porvorim. Preparation before the session is critical — once your turn is called, you have limited time to decide.

Step 1: Prepare Your Preference List Before the Session

• Study the Merit List published at dte.goa.gov.in before the admission round date.
• Identify the colleges and branches that students with a rank similar to yours secured in the previous round (Round 1 allotment lists can guide your expectations for Round 2).
• Rank your top 5–10 college-branch combinations in order of preference and note them on paper to carry to DTE Porvorim.

Step 2: Report to DTE Porvorim on the Notified Date

• Reach DTE, Porvorim, well before your scheduled reporting time — late arrivals may lose their turn.
• Carry your Eligibility/Merit List acknowledgement, JEE Main scorecard, Admit Card, all original certificates, and two sets of self-attested photocopies.
• Collect your token / queue number at the venue and wait for your merit-rank group to be called.

Step 3: Seat Selection When Your Turn Is Called

• Approach the admission counter when your merit rank is called.
• You will be shown the live list of available seats (college + branch combinations remaining after higher-ranked students have picked).
• State your preferred choice from the available options. Your selection is final once confirmed with the admissions officer.

Step 4: Collect Your Allotment Letter

• After confirming your seat, collect the allotment letter issued by DTE Goa on the spot.
• Verify that the college name, branch, and category on the allotment letter are correct before leaving the venue.
• Report any discrepancy immediately to the admissions officer at DTE Porvorim — corrections cannot be made after you leave.

Step 5: Pay Seat Acceptance Fee at the Counter

• Pay the seat acceptance / deposit fee at the designated payment counter at DTE Porvorim (or as directed in the allotment letter).
• Retain the payment receipt — it is required when reporting to the allotted college.

Once you confirm your seat and pay the fee, the seat is locked to you. You may attend the next round to try for an upgrade only if DTE Goa’s rules for that round permit participation by students who already hold a seat.

Non-Refundable Fees

Seat-Linked / Refundable Fees

Separately, you pay the first-year tuition fee directly to the allotted college when you report. If you withdraw after accepting a seat, the seat acceptance fee may not be fully refunded — deductions apply depending on the stage at which you withdraw.

GCET Round-Wise B.E. Admission Schedule 2026

DTE Goa conducts B.E. admissions across multiple rounds. Seats unfilled in one round or vacated by non-reporting students are redistributed in the next round. The table below shows all rounds for 2026 and their status as of July 21, 2026.

What Round 2 covers: Round 2 offers seats from two sources — (1) seats that were not selected during Round 1 because no eligible student chose them, and (2) seats vacated by Round 1 students who did not report to their allotted college within the reporting deadline. If you attended Round 1 but left without selecting a seat (or your rank was not reached in Round 1), you must attend Round 2 with the same documents.

Non-JEE Round: This separate round is for students who completed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics but do not have a JEE Main rank. Upgrade, Confirm, or Withdraw: What Should You Choose?

After receiving a seat in Round 1, students may have the option to participate in Round 2 to try for a better college or branch. Weigh each option carefully — the financial and strategic consequences are different in each case.

• If you are even slightly interested in a better option, attend Round 2 — you lose nothing if no better seat is available, as long as DTE Goa’s rules allow you to retain your Round 1 seat as a fallback.
• Confirm immediately only if you are 100% satisfied with your current seat and have no higher preference remaining among the available colleges.
• Do not withdraw unless you are certain you will not need the Goa B.E. seat — the fee deduction makes this a costly decision.
• The upgrade / retain-seat rules may differ between rounds. Read the DTE Goa notification for Round 2 carefully before attending — it will specify whether your Round 1 seat is held or released when you participate in Round 2.

Participating Engineering Colleges in Goa 2026

Five engineering colleges participate in DTE Goa’s B.E. Note: NIT Goa and IIT Goa admissions are through JoSAA (separate central counselling) and are not part of the DTE Goa B.E. admission process. Do not confuse DTE Goa’s five participating colleges with NIT Goa or IIT Goa.

Reporting to the Allotted College

After selecting a seat at the DTE Porvorim admission round and paying the seat acceptance deposit, you must physically report to the allotted college within the reporting deadline stated in your allotment letter. Reporting completes your admission; failure to report — even with a valid allotment letter and paid deposit — results in seat cancellation.

What to carry when reporting to the college:

• Submit original documents for verification by the college’s admission committee.
• Pay first-year tuition and other applicable fees as notified by the college.
• Collect your admission confirmation receipt and student enrolment number.
• Complete any additional formalities required by the college (medical fitness certificate, anti-ragging undertaking, etc.).
