Potassium Oxide can be prepared through the following ways: 

(I) When potassium reacts with oxygen, Potassium Oxide is generated. The chemical equation for the reaction is as follows:

4K + O2 \(\rightarrow\) 2K2O

(II) Potassium Peroxide is also generated during the above process, which, when treated with potassium, creates Potassium Oxide.

(III) Potassium Oxide can be easily generated by heating potassium nitrate with potassium metal. The chemical equation for the reaction is as follows:

(IV) When potassium peroxide is heated to 500 Degrees Celsius, potassium oxide is also formed. In other words, potassium peroxide decomposes to form potassium oxide and oxygen. The chemical equation for the reaction is as follows:
