Ramjas College - A Review

Average management. Still poor infrastructure. And the college is hyper active in politics. Which is a reason for not so good management.

Exam structure is quite good and the curriculum is far better than any other university. It's quite more practical like there's a wide variety to choose elective subject rather than having a rigid system. Placements aren't that good because usually Mathematics students go for competitive exams or for masters degree rather than a job.

There are a vast variety of internship offers. But as said earlier, Mathematics students go for higher studies or competitive exams rather than a job.

Radix is the annual Mathematics festival which is held in a grand way. Also every department conducts its own fest which is unique in its own way consisting of seminars, games, quizzes, paper presentations, interactive talks, competitions, stand up comedies, concerts etc. At last there's finally the college fest Mosaic.

Truly feasible. Around 15K per year. And 250rs for the admission form. Mode of payment is online transaction without much hassle. No additional charges since it's a government institution. Talking to the Dean of the university might help transparency in the fee breakdown. No fee for securing admission to college. Courses which involves laboratories charge more than the rest others.

No there's no scholarship criteria. There's a provision for the students coming from economically weaker section.

Gender ration varies from course to course but its quite balanced overall. Ramjas has a lot of societies to develop oneself. A lot of societies are there which involves multi layered screening process. Ragging isn't at all present at Ramjas. There are communities from almost each community which fights against racism. Most probably one won't be a target for racism here at ramjas. There's also gender forum cell to ensure safety and empowerment of women.

Yes. But seats are limited. One girl from each course and two boys from each course and year. Hostel facilities is average. Generally students opt for PGs or flats. PGs are quite expensive ranging from 5K to 25K. Quality of PGs depends upon the price range

Ramjas has the best seniors. Seniors are more like your siblings here. Ready to help and counsel. It's not like what we generally percieve before going to college.

Admission process involves simple steps. Before the actual process one has to register himself at the website. After the cut off list is declared you've to carry all the necessary stuff and documents to the college and then fill the necessary forms. I chose Ramjas because its Mathematics dept is the best in the University.

Faculty of Mathematics is excellent. 2 professors have recieved president award for their excellence in teaching. Average age of teachers will be around 42. More than 15 teachers are there in the department. Tutorials are held to clarify the doubts of the student.
