Remarks

Management is not good. We have no interaction with management. It feels was though there is no management at all.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Curicullum is well organised and up to date with industry standards. But the grading scheme is on the tough side. It won't be wrong to say that EEE at BITS has the worst grading in India. There is a program called practise school which helps us to get industry exposure of 8 months before graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are two types of scholarships offered at BITS Pilani. Merit scholarship : Based on your CGPA in the current semester. Around 10(per batch) people get 100% off and another 10(per batch) get 40% off on tuition fee. This semester’s cut-off was 9. 2 Merit cum Need scholarship : Again based on your CGPA but also has the condition that your parents' annual income should be less than 10 LPA. Any CGPA above 7 gets you a scholarship, but the more your CGPA, more the scholarship. I didn't availed any scholarship.

Campus Life

5

Well, it varies from person to person. There are ghots who read day and night and there are some guys like me who are relaxed all the times. A timetable for a ghot is like “Duniya ka naara” song of taare zameen par. Wakes up at 7 am, have breakfast, attend classes then library, after that dinner, finally sleep. Now I gonna tell you the real ayyashi we bitsians do. First of all I want to tell you the biggest fact of bitsian culture. There is no “ATTENDANCE”. I repeat “NO ATTENDANCE”. So forget about morning classes. We wake up at around 10 am except tuesday. The reason is simple “#chole bhatore”. Then we think what to do today. We go on thinking and enjoy the day well. In evening the real fun starts. Some of us play while some of us go to workshop to learn something new. I am a web developer so I give myself the most of my time hitting new codes on my laptop. I keep on learning and I gain to learn a lot because of the independence we have between seniors. At night we have all night canteen “ANC”. We grab on eating huge stuffs then we go to bed at around 4 am. Independence is the only thing that make the bitsians the best.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, the best hostel rooms available in an Indian college with high amount of cleaned and maintained regularly. The rooms here are well furnished and you won't find such rooms anywhere in India in a college.

Alumni/Alumna

I am really surprised that nobody has mentioned the following individuals who are prevalent in Indian Academia as well:- SD Joshi, HoD EE Department at IIT Delhi. Amitava Babi Mitra:- Did his Msc chem + Chemical engineering from BITS pilani as well as Phd. Held various posts in many Indian universities currently Executive Director at NEET programme at MIT(USA). D. P Kothari:- I will let his wikipedia speak for itself. D. P. Kothari - Wikipedia. Similarly their are many BITSian profs prevalent in many universities like IISc CMI as well.

Admission

I loved electronics so I took the Bits at and scored enough to pass the cut off and get admission there. After Bits at there was counselling where a choice filling happened and further allotment of stream. There are generally 5 rounds of counselling.

Faculty

5

Faculty in CSE is a mix of the good ones and the not so good ones. Primary emphasis is on the completion of the course and it is up to the student to ensure that he grabs the concepts well in time. Engineering is mostly about self-study as far as I am concerned. The faculty is very knowledgeable but the gap between possessing it and imparting it to young minds still remains. A majority of the students rely on online courses in spite of paying a huge amount of money as tuition fees every semester. The questions asked in exams though usually require deep application of the concepts taught in the courses so the evaluation system seems to be at par with other reputed universities.
