I choose the Delhi University because it is prestige university and Lady Irwin college is best for home science in Asia. The location is in central Delhi. The faculty and students are very good. You will get the good exposure from this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Home science is the practical based course. It has 5 disciplinary stream. 1-Food and nutrition 2- Human development 3- Resource Management in application design. 4- Fashion designing 5- Communication Extension These all subjects are practical based and every year college update it's course curriculum acc. to the need of the market. The faculties are Excellent, they are very helpful and always be there for their students and guide them.
Internships Opportunities
I did internship at delhi airport from the referral of my college. I get the stipend of 4000. I worked in GMR.
Placement Experience
The placement and job opportunities is good. Teacher referred her students in the firm and for the internship. 25 students in one class and every student get chance for doing internship and job. The teacher have good contacts.
College Events
Lady Irwin college have many socities like Nityajanli for dance, chitrika for art, akaar for street play, dhwanii for singing and many more. Every year college participate in intra college competition. Like in iits, last year akaar was first rank holder in iit mumbai. The college have annual fest name. Last year Ayushman was the celebrity in the fest.
Campus Life
Lady Irwin college was built in 1932. It was built by Britishers. The building is heritage building. Wi-Fi facilities is available in every building for students and staff both. The library is big in size around 200 student can seat and read there. There is also printing and Photoshop machine, which is very helpful for students. All the labs have large no. of equipments.
