Fees and Financial Aid

i am currently in my 2nd year (3rd semester) of bcom at JIMS Kalkaji. I dont remember how much i paid for my 1st year but it was approxmatily arounf 1.5 lakhs and recently i paid for my 2nd year and it was 1.4 lakhs the exact amount can vary depending upon the year and category. The college also has scholarship options for students at JIMS kalkaji for eligible students including minority students and students whoes family income is 6 lakhs or below that amount, overall i find the fees reasonable considering the facilities and academic enviroment provided in the college.

Campus Life

in JIMS kalkaji a lot of fests keep happening and a lot of events when i was in 1st year festivals like dandia, republic day and all other sorts of festivals were celebrated u can issue books from library anytime with no problem the yearly books are distributed to students classrooms have smart boards and is completely digital we have sports team for football cricket tt badminton etc there are many social groups such as CII yuva and NSS or OC they do events

Faculty

The faculty members at Roorkee Institute of Technology are generally supportive, approachable, and helpful towards students. The faculty-to-student ratio is satisfactory, and students can discuss their academic doubts with teachers during and after classes. The course curriculum is well structured and covers both theoretical concepts and practical learning relevant to the industry. Regular assignments, practicals, internal assessments and presentations help students prepare for the final examinations. The examination system is systematic, with internal and end-semester examinations conducted as per the academic schedule. The difficulty level of exams is generally moderate, and students who attend classes regularly and prepare consistently can perform well. The marking scheme includes internal assessments, assignments, practical work and semester examinations, providing students with multiple opportunities to improve their overall academic performance.

Internships Opportunities

In my experience at RIT, I got good exposure to internship opportunities along with my regular academics. The college’s placement and training team helped students understand available internship options and guided us according to our interests and career goals. As an MBA student, I found opportunities related to areas like marketing, HR, finance and sales particularly useful. Internships helped me understand how concepts that we study in class actually work in a professional environment. I also got the opportunity to improve my communication, teamwork and practical problem-solving skills. I would suggest students actively participate in internship drives and industry-related activities because they add valuable practical experience to your profile.

Placement Experience

The placements of university are very good because there is a career development cell present in the campus, which helps every student for getting placed. There are 350+ recruiters which visits our campus for recruitment. Recruiters like Tech Mahindra , HCL Tech , ICICI , Wipro , Asian Paints , Deloitte , ITC , Unilever , Infosys , etc. comes for recruitment every year . Recruiters comes from sectors like FMCG , Banking , Tech , Consulting , e-commerce , etc. Approx 98% students get placed and they are trying to increase this percentage. Highest package touched is impressive which is 40 Lpa , average package is 8.7 Lpa , about average top 20% offers was of 13.5Lpa. My plans after getting degree is to get placed with valuable package and after sometimes I want to start my own business.

Campus Life

My overall experience of campus life is fantastic and very far from being boring. There are different types of clubs for example in sports we have badminton, football, volleyball, 8 ball pool, etc. clubs which enhances the sports experience of the students. For the students who are intrested in marketing , AI Innovation, etc or fitness and travelling there are marketing club, DAC club for AI, Fit dont quit , bag packers clubs. Classromms seems more intresting because of digital boards and projectors, which prevents lectures so boring. Libraries contains intresting books another than study books, it is intresting for the students who are having hobbies like reading books. SAS and SAP labs are present in college which helps to learn modern technologies which are important in real world.

Faculty

The way of faculty approach to each and every student was too good and approach was decent.Infact knowledge shared by the faculty made me to gain more industrial practical knowledge into more industrial research based exposure. The pharmaceutics staff helped me a lot to get into realtime job experience. The mathematics staff within the first year was not supportive, more care should have been taken Maths was the more difficult part of the entire Pharma course because maths was not core subject with in intermediate.

Course Curriculum Overview

Pharmacy was the best option for Bipc students apart from MBBS. My main aim was MBBS,but unfortunaley i couldn't get it. Retail pharma, industrial, clinical had a huge scope which made me to opt for Bachelor of Pharmacy. Curriculum needs more practical knowledge to prove within the real time market. Improvement was much needed with research based programs as it was the major core area for pharma aspirants. Frequency betwween internal and external exams were too short.

As talking about the relationship between teacher and student .. some teacher's are realty friendly but some are just inaprochable and there is a very wrong rule that you cant text aur express your queries to your teacher personally you have to text that in the offical group no matter what it is and the feedback is always delayed some times they dont respond some teachers are really nice who are helpful. There are total 6 subjects for every subject for the home center paper its all about your luck if the professor likes you .. you will pass

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee is a bit on an expensive side for tge whole course you need to pay 3 lakh 40 thousand semester vises fees is 30 thousand you need to pay 20 thousand extra at the time of admission (for Journalism and mass communication hons) and as for other courses like commerce science and other humanities courses the margin is 2 lakh to 4 lakh for the whole course students can apply for scholarships but the annual family income must be less thab 20 thousand or if the student has a single parent

Placement Experience

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. The remaining drives mostly service based companies like TCS, EY etc and quite a few startups has visited to main campus. The package they offered mostly in between 3.5lpa - 6 lpa. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs

Campus Life

The college hosts annual events, including a freshers' welcome party and a cultural fest held every year. While there are no dedicated technical fests organized directly on campus, students do participate in events like the Smart India Hackathon (SIH). The library facilities are accessible, and students are issued a library card during the admission process to borrow books. Additionally, an annual sports event is organized for students. However, there are currently no active student-run social groups or clubs on campus.

Campus Life

campus life is average overall. there are some annual events and technical activities but they are not held on a very large scale. clubs and student activities are available but participation is limited compared to bigger colleges. library has basic books and study material but more updated books and journals could be provided. classrooms have basic facilities like projectors and computers but some facilities need improvement. sports and extracurricular activities are available but options are limited. overall social life is okay but there is still a lot of scope for improvement.

Course Curriculum Overview

i would rate the curriculum around 5 or 6 out of 10. i chose this course mainly because of the computer and coding subjects. the syllabus is mostly theory based and many topics are not very useful for current industry needs. practical classes and real projects are also limited. more coding, projects and updated technologies should be added. exams are frequent during the semester and the difficulty is mostly average but sometimes checking feels strict.
