Remarks

This college has a name among other colleges, ranked as 32 by NIRF. Also, it was closer to my home, it took me a maximum of 45 minutes to reach College. The college is surrounded by lush green. It is centrally located, everything you want or wherever you want to go for fun studies it is the best place you can attend. The college admissions vary, for bsc, it is on merit and for others, there might be the entrance. Mainly it is a home science-based college and had recently restarted the Food Technology course. I attended this college for a Bsc Food Technology course. Some faculty teachers are good, very helpful also the lab staffs are very good, helpful, and punctual. The college is not much involved in educational trips and extracurricular educational activities. Many societies help in acquiring social life and social skills. The college has the best Annual Fests you would never like to miss.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I attended the college for Bsc Food Technology. The course is good but the college doesn't provide any internships by themselves neither they offer industrial visits. Some of the faculty members are very supportive, helpful, and with great knowledge. The students in my batch were 45 and they all resided in a single room, we had a different timetable for only practical. The practical was conducted in different batches in different labs. The Food Technology labs are well maintained and the staffs are also well educated and helpful.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

The college doesn't provide any internship or training. The students have to find by themselves, they just ask and fill the formalities up in the form of sheets. They themselves dont provide any facilities regarding this and neither suggests.

Placement Experience

3

The college as per my view has no placement cell. They dont offer any internships or training facilities neither any industrial visits for the Food Technology students. My plan after attending this college is to do MSc in Food Technology from any other college or renowned university.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure here is taken per annum. And the examination fees are to be taken at one time only. The fees were around 25000 per annum and the course Duration was of three years. Therefore per year around 25000 fees are taken. I was not a hosteller therefore dont know about the fee structure. Yes, colleges provide scholarships to students and it depends on certain criteria of the annual income.

Campus Life

4

Lady Irwin College has the best Annual Fests and people from different campuses and colleges attend the fest. The college has many clubs and societies which are performed in Amphitheatre and a big hall every single occasion is celebrated there. The classroom is not so much developed to the new structure, there are same old infrastructure classrooms. The college has a sports society as well and an NCC group.

Interview Experience

4

The admission process for Bsc Hons Food technology was by merit-based that is best three were taken during the admission process. The college had rounds during filling up the admission procedures. There is no written test or entrance for the course Bsc Hons. Food Technology. There are many helpful hands that help in all the processes and procedures during admission.

I will rate the course curriculum 8/10. I like the labs specially they are modern with well equiped systems. According to me I suggest to improve the course structure to include more practical based learning instead of theory. Overall course is good.

Students of 6th sem are eligible for the campus selection process. Our course also have placement programs. Some companies that visit here are TCS, Wipro and few more the no of offers made depend upon the performance of student in the placement cell. The highest package as per my knowledge is 13 lakhs and the average here is 6 lakhs. Sorry for the inconvenience but I don't have any knowledge regarding the job profile given. The placement percentage changes every year depending upon the respective batch. My planning after the course is either placement otherwise my prime goal CSE.
