Remarks

I chose to attend the college because it was reputable and situated in the North Campus of Delhi University, one of the most happening places to be in Delhi. I really wanted to pursue Physics which is why I rejected all other colleges and went to Ramjas. The admission process was fairly straightforward, and the submission of documents was quick and prompt.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course because I wanted to pursue research in pure sciences, namely Physics. The faculty: student ratio is about 1:50, which isn't great but isn't all that terrible considering the amount of students wanting to get admission to DU colleges. All the faculty seemed quite knowledgeable, and all of the permanent teaching staff had PHDs, some from universities outside India as well. The teaching method was not unlike any other college, and I would've preferred an increased use of multimedia content in the classroom. The term exams were held punctually, even during the pandemic when they were shifted online, and it wasn't tough to get a good score if your basics were clear.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

There was a lot of social media marketing and sales lead generation internships, followed by some content writing internships and then NGOs/Startups. Most of them came with a stipend of anywhere from 5k pm to 15k pm.

Placement Experience

2.5

Students from all semesters are eligible for internships, however, mostly Final year/semester students are preferred by the placement cell. Not a lot of placements were available for my course since a BSc on its own doesn't mean a lot, but there were good packages available for students pursuing commerce and the like as far as I know, the highest packages offered in our department were around 12-24 Lac pa while the lowest were only 5-6 Lac pa. Not a lot of students got a placement after completing the course right away, as most opted including me opted for higher studies (Masters in Physics, MBA, UPSC etc).

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees were fairly low. For the first year, it was about 13k per semester, which hiked to 14.5k per semester in the second year and 16k per semester in the third year. In addition to this, an examination fee of about 1k was required every semester before exams. The cost of living in Delhi isn't that high if you're willing to compromise a little - I managed to share a flat for 5k per month near my college. There are also some scholarships available, such as the Rector's prize and the Inspire scholarship. Jobs mostly consisted of internships for my course which doesn't pay a lot, but a lot of students from Arts managed to find better-paying jobs.

Campus Life

4.5

There was an annual Ramjas fest in the months of March-April, and aside from that all the departments and societies were free to conduct their own fests throughout the semester so that the atmosphere was always lively and bustling. There was an event happening almost every week. The library had almost all prescribed course books and reference books available, although it did have only limited copies. There was a photocopy service available on campus however which made up for it. The classroom had all basic amenities - fans, whiteboards and blackboards, desks, projectors, washrooms and drinking water. Almost all sports were played on campus, from cricket and football to football and kho-kho. Almost every type of society existed on campus. Personally, I was a part of the Physics society and the Quizzing society.

I will rate the course curriculum 8/10. I like the labs specially they are modern with well equiped systems. According to me I suggest to improve the course structure to include more practical based learning instead of theory. Overall course is good.

Placement Experience:

Students of 6th sem are eligible for the campus selection process. Our course also have placement programs. Some companies that visit here are TCS, Wipro and few more the no of offers made depend upon the performance of student in the placement cell. The highest package as per my knowledge is 13 lakhs and the average here is 6 lakhs. Sorry for the inconvenience but I don't have any knowledge regarding the job profile given. The placement percentage changes every year depending upon the respective batch. My planning after the course is either placement otherwise my prime goal CSE.
