I took BITSAT(2012) entrance exam -Score:358, This college was one of the best institutes in the country when it comes to computer sciences, among other institutes like IIT Bombay and IIT Hyderabad.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is totally student dependent. The let the student pursue his interests in all fields irrespective of his course. The time table is prepared by a student himself and has the freedom to choose between instructor and courses.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, there are two programs, PS-I and PS-II (PS standing for practice school), the first one is for 2 months and the second one for 6 months. The average stipend for PS is around 20k with highest stipends ranging till 65k.
Placement Experience
There are around 95% students placed each semester. many renowned companies visit the campus for placements like VISA, Microsoft, Amazon, Direct I, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Bain, McKinskey, Schlumberger etc. The institute from it's side tries it's best to get it's students placed.
College Events
BOSM-Sports Fest(around 1000 participants). This is the annual sports fest of the campus in which many colleges participate including colleges from Sri Lanka. Oasis-Cultural Fest(around 2000 participants). This is one of India's largest cultural fest and renowned for it's name.
Fee Structure And Facilities
1 lakh per semester, but total value for money. The tuition fee is 90k per semester. Remaining fees are very minor and the mess fee varies according to student's choice.
Fees and Financial Aid
Merit scholarship offered to the students. There's also Aditya Birla Scholarship with the students topping in the BITSAT and state board toppers being eligible for the same. There are also many external scholarships advertised by the institute for it's students.
Campus Life
The college stands first in India for all round development of a student. There's everything expected of a college here. There are departments and clubs working for the college fests all round the year. The sports facilities of the institute is top in class. There's also martial arts classes and gym provided to the students.
Alumni/Alumna
The college has one of the best Alumni networks in the world and are always available via social media for help. The reason for the excellent placements in the campus are it's alumni. There's also help regarding sponsorship for startups and various teams going for external competitions. The Alumni scholraship is also available for students in need.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is pretty chilled out. There are two main exams. The mid-semester and the comprehensives. There are also tutorial tests in between so that a student is up to date with the subject. There are also lab evaluative and lab practicals in the end so that a student gets hands on experience with the subject.
Faculty
The faculty is student friendly and are always proactive in helping students. Though there's no attendance in any course, the students tend to attend classes of their instructors. There are both lectures and tutorials taken by the faculty so that a student gets total understanding of a subject.
