The college with the best examples of infrastructure amidst the greenery in a perfect location. I preferred Lady Irwin College, due to its ranking and specialty in its specific courses. The college is Asia's one of the best colleges for Home Science. Although there is no placement cell, I found most of the students get placement. Professors are really hardworking. We are blessed to have such qualified professors. The societies and extracurricular things apart from studies provide a platform for overall development. The college is famous for its fashion society prophecy. The admission process in the college in this pandemic was quite an easy one. I got a seat in college through the DU admission portal in the first round. Despite, pandemic the college has provided us with the best facility of studies and teaching.
I chose Bsc. Hons. Food Technology, as the scope of the food industry, goes on increasing and this industry can not expectedly see a decline. Moreover, I am always fascinated by food processing and technology. There are 30 students per section in a class. Our 3 main papers are taught by 6 teachers. The teachers are highly qualified from reputed institutions like CFTRI, BHU, etc. Some teachers are like blessings to us. All the topics are taught patiently by them with the proper doubt clearing sessions. The internal and external exams both were held timely and smoothly. Results are still awaited.
There is no placement cell in the college as per my knowledge. However, teachers help us out with internships. Companies like Nestle, Cadbury, max, etc visit here with internship offers. After getting the degree, I plan to crack entrance examinations to get admission in MSc. In one of the best Food technology colleges like CFTRI, etc.
The fee is approx 30,000 for a year. There are many scholarships and financial aid for which students can apply. We get to know about different internship opportunities through our teachers and anyone interested can apply for those.
Quintessence is the annual fest of Lady Irwin College. All the societies arrange many intercollege debate competitions with goodies and prizes for the winners. It's great fun at the time of the annual event we can apply for books and issue them from the library. There are no. of books related to all the subjects, topics, etc.
Placements start with the 5th semester in the third year of the course. Various big companies like Bain, BCG, Deshaw and LEK Consulting etc. They offer competitive packages to the students and the college offers 90% placements.
Students can apply for placements in their final year. There are many companies like Flipkart, Amazon, Unschool, etc which offer good packages. The average annual package ranges between 4-5 lakhs per annum. The placement rate is around 80%. Talking of me, I am planning for going for MBA after this degree.
All the faculty in the college are very helpful throughout the course. They share their work experience and proper guidelines for the future and betterment of the student. 75% of the attendance is mandatory for all the students to be e applicable for appearing in the examination. Exams are conducted in the two mid-term examinations and end-term examinations. Students must score 50% to pass the semester.
Depending upon your skill, you will get placed. A lot of companies do come to recruit you like WIPRO, KPMG. The highest package was 15 LPA last year and almost 80% of students got placed. So the average is quite good here. But you need to secure more than 60% to be eligible for the recruitment process.
The first reason to choose this course is that I have an interest in chemistry and the second reason is that I wanted to do masters(MSc) and then PhD in chemistry. So, I decided to choose b.sc (Hons) chemistry as my Undergraduate course. I suggest to everyone, if you have much more interest in chemistry then you choose this course for your graduation. In my class, there are 54 students and two teachers for a subject. Faculty: student ratio is 1:27. All the faculty members are very educated and well qualified. Some of them are university topper. They all are like a friend and always ready to help you. This whole course is of 3 years and each year is divided into two semesters. After every 6 months, a semester exam is conducted by the university and you have to pass every semester exam. Semester exams are not typical. It totally based on your given syllabus and easy to qualify it.
From the 4th semester, a student becomes eligible for campus placements. Some of the companies that come to Delhi University include ABP News, Amazon, Azim Premji Foundation, British Telecom, IndiGo Airlines, Infosys Navig8, Shaadi.com, SRF Ltd, Tech Mahindra, United Health Group, Vistara, Vivo Mobile, Wipro, Macquarie Global Services, Deloitte USI, Deloitte India, ICICI bank, Outgrow, Boston Consulting Group, PWC, Decathlon, Growisto, BCG, Zee Media, Tata Consultancy Services, ITC Group, EY, PayTM, Dell, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd, Wipro. There is a record of 96% placement at Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College (ARSD). The highest package offered here is 7 LPA. The average package offered at Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College (ARSD) is INR 3.5 to 4 LPA. I want to get some experience by getting work in different companies whether through internship or by placement.
We have a campus placement cell that handles all the companies coming in for placements and internships. It is active throughout and we have internships coming in all year round. In third year we become eligible for placements. CPC verfies our resume or CV in various steps and then they are sent to companies we are interested in. We have interviews then if we are selected we are informed. The placement ratio and the packages are good. I'm going for masters at IITD through IIT JAM.
Campus internships and placements are provided but in less number. Many companies came here to hire students. But I think the profiles that they come for is not related to the course being provided in the college. They are very common profiles that anyone can apply for if having the relevant skills. Course-related placements are less. My plan after the UG is to opt for PG course in the same field. And to do part-time job.
Bhagini nivedita college is awesome college. Each and every thing is very good in this college. Campus is very big with 5 parks well maintained building.
Entrance Exam Conducted by Delhi University. I only remember that I got 12th rank out of 13 seats available for general category. I selected this college because it had a very good reputation, the course was affiliated to DU and it was a government organisation.
Placement was 100%. The following companies came :Otto bock Endolite Total, Boyner, Tynor On an average they offered Rs 20000 per month.
