Entrance Test : BITSAT, Score : 346 Loved to code and also the faculty is very good for Computer Science along with the range of courses offered.

The course curriculum is advanced and updated. There is lot of scope for learning with the way the courses are taught in BITS. The faculty is also very understanding and helps all along. There is lot of focus on research in Core Disciplinary Courses (CDCs) along with a vast array of Electives.

The college provides internships with an initiative called Practice School (PS). A three month internship is provided during summers after end of second year with main focus of first hand industrial exposure. A six month internship is provided during fourth year for a whole semester with a flexibility to opt for either first semester or second semester.

The placements are very good with huge amount of companies visiting both semesters in the fourth year. Lot of fortune 500 companies visit institute offering packages ranging from Few Lac Rupees to Few Hundred Thousand Dollars with opportunities to work both in India and abroad.

BITS organises many festivals on both small, medium and large scale. The major festivals are Cultural Fest (OASIS), Technical Fest (APOGEE) Sports Fest (BOSM),Management Fest (Interface), Startup Fest (Conclave) along with many art festivals for music, drama, etc. The participation, both internal and external is huge. All the festivals are organised by students of BITS pilani with help from faculty and institute.

The fee structure is affordable. There is lot of help available from banks for loans. The fee structure for year 2016-17 is as follows. Admission Fee : 28050 (one time), Semester Fee : 113300 (per semester). There are lot of scholarships available for students based on merit and merit cum need.

Every year, about 24% students get between 25% to 80% tuition fee waivers in form of different scholarships. There are lot of scholarships available for students based on merit and merit cum need.

The percentage of girls in BITS Pilani varies from 10% to 14% every year for the last 10 years. The campus life is interesting with lot of clubs and departments to join. The students comes from all over India to study in BITS for various courses offered. There are vast array of departments and clubs in BITS and they organise many events all year.

Most of hostels are rebuild in last 4 years and they are provided to students on sharing as well as single basis. The hostel rooms are spacious and they are provided with study table, pin board, chair, bed and a fan. The hostel fee is about 10000 per semester.

One of the biggest advantage to join BITS is the network of Alumni available to help during and after the study at institute. The network does provide help in terms of mentoring, funding, etc.

The Major exams happen in two phases, i.e., Mid-Term and Comprehensive (Final) Examinations. There are decent amount of small test that happen during semester to test skills as they are learnt. The tests are not very frequent to be hectic but there are few surprise tests that happen.

The notification was released on the bits admissions website around January. I fetched the application form online and sent it to the institute by courier along with a demand draft of Rs. 1000. The form needs to reach the institute before the mentioned last date.

The faculty is amazing and promotes learning. They help students all along during classes as well as during chamber hours or otherwise. Most of the faculty has huge experience in research and development under their belt. They teach their courses with passion which makes the courses much more interesting.
