BITS review

There is a separate entrance exam BITSAT, which is purely online and requires the course till the 12th. Post the exam, based on the score counselling in done and the branch is allotted from the 3 campuses in India. The minimum requirement is 75% in 12th.

There were two term exams every semester. One is mid-term and the other one is end-term. In between these, there were class tests and evaluation which has a weightage in the final grades. The structure might be different for different campuses. This is true for the Pilani campus.

I worked with Swiggy for my 6 months internship. I worked on 4 different projects. The outcome was pretty good. I worked on the proof of the concept of Swiggy Genie. I really liked the work and the team. The college is very supportive.

The placements were really good. People got offers during their internships as well. And I was able to get my job pretty easily. The process was usually a quant test followed by group discussion follewed by an interview.

There were many scholarships and financial assistance. There is a good merit cum scholarship and is awarded to ~90% of students who need financial assistance. Because of a premier institute, the interest rate on the loans is lesser. Though the fees are high the placements are good.

Dance club, World record society, Photography department, Football team, Sponsorship department, Events department, Drama club, Mime club, Poetry club, Basketball team, Hockey team, Snooker team, Department of Theatre, Music club, Gurukul, Ragamalika, There are quite some regional associations as well.

We were allotted hostel rooms. Since the hostel was mandatory. In the first year, everyone is allotted a shared room with a maximum occupancy of 2. Some hostels have seniors as well. I have gotten the hostel with only first year ones. Post the first year, there is a preference for opting for a single occupancy room or a shared room. One can also form a wing (a 10-room) booking. I really liked the hostel life since most of the time is spent here. There was no attendance policy, so I spent more time with my wingmates. The hostels are good. There are some old ones and some are new buildings. The rooms are good. The place becomes hot during summers and really cold during winters. The rooms try to provide some cosy place but it since no extra facilities like cooler or a heater is provided. It becomes a little challenging at times. You have to clean your own rooms though there are sweepers, whom you ask for help. The folks are really good and chill and are really helpful.
