Campus Life
The campus of nit Kurukshetra is around the Fest culture of NIT Kurukshetra is superb but only when you are willing to involve. There are 2 major fests, one is Confluence (Annual Cultural fest) and another is Techspardha (Annual Techno-Managerial Fest). Since I am a member of the Photography Club for 3 years, I can assure you that if you are part of a club or society you will learn a lot during the preparation and management of these fests. The 95% work of the fests is done by students only, teachers are not much support so all the ground control is also in the hands of students. And the best part about fests is post-fest parties and trips.
Hostel Facilities
I would say that all the hostels are not in very good condition, but satisfactory enough to spend your 4 years. Hostels H 1, 2, 3 are the hostels where you will reside in the first year. In the first year, you will have to share your rooms with 2 or 3 people. The rooms are big and airy. The furniture in the rooms is quite old, and every year a little maintenance work is done on the walls and doors. After a month or two you would see cracks and scales on the walls of some of the rooms. Apart from that everything else is okay. You have a geyser so you don’t have to worry about winters. And every room has 3 LAN ports. And each floor has a router. Mess food is just satisfactory. In the second semester, you have a choice to move to Hostels H 4, 5, or 6 if you want a single room. The condition of these hostels is the same as the hostels mentioned above, except that their corridors are quite cramped but the mess food is really good.
