Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am in love with physics. I appreciate how it deals with nature. Everything happening around us is governed by physics. That's why I chose physics hons. In our college for physics hons there are 2 sections. In eavh there are 60-60 students. Talking about faculty they are absolutely very good. They teach every single concept so well. Labs are also good. There are semester exams at the end of the semester and teachers take 1-2 tests for internal assessment marks in which Assignments are also included + attendance marks also.

Internships Opportunities

4

In my college one can get internship by writting emails to the professors of their respective departments. After that they can get internship easily. Doing internship with our college professor would be actually a good opportunity. I would also go for them for sure.

Placement Experience

2.5

See there is generally not any placements after the course B.Sc. if there are any their placements are not so Good. So talking about opportunities after this course one can pursue his masters, doctorate, post doc. in his subject following his/her passion for that subject. One can qualify NET/JRF exam for professor post in Universities or choose research after M.Sc. if someone is not interested in continuing his studies he/she can go for competitive exams or say government exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

In our college for my course ie. Physics hons I paid 19021? fee for first year and for second year/third year I have to pay 17/18k I guess that is actually affordable (not too much). College also provides scholarship.

Campus Life

4.5

Annual fests/tech fests are generally conducted in February March months. They are full of fun and entertainment. The library in our college is good overall. Books are enough. Every book have 5-6 copies atleast. Magazines, newspapers, journals are also available there in library. There is a very peaceful environment maintained by the students inside the library. Sports equipments of basketball, football, chess, table tennis, cricket, volleyball, badminton, hockey almost every sports are available in college. There are so many societies working in college made by students itself like music society/astro society/physics society/debating society and many more. The participate in competitions in other colleges, universities.

Admission

I got admission in ramjas college DU after qualifying the cutoff marks in entrance exam "CUET-UG". For this exam one should have passed intermediate atleast. This exam is basically to get admission in central universities like BHU, JNU, DU, BBAU, HCU, AMU etc. Application forms will be available in cuet.nta.ac.in The exam is conducted by "National testing agency(NTA)". Here reservation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS candidates. I don't exactly remember the application fee but yeah it's affordable for students. Talking about the exam dates, it was conducted in June, July in my appearing time. And at the end when it comes to improvements I want to see in the admission process, I would say the process of normalisation in obtained marks in the exam is not fair. One can even get his marks decreased by 100-150 after normalisation which is obviously saddest for a hard working student.

Other Applied Colleges

Banaras Hindu University - [BHU] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Mathematics)

I didn't opt for BHU because I think one can get more exposure in DU rather than BHU and also I got ramjas college which is actually in the list of top colleges of DU, so at the end I went for DU :)

I will rate the course curriculum 8/10. I like the labs specially they are modern with well equiped systems. According to me I suggest to improve the course structure to include more practical based learning instead of theory. Overall course is good.

Placement Experience:

Students of 6th sem are eligible for the campus selection process. Our course also have placement programs. Some companies that visit here are TCS, Wipro and few more the no of offers made depend upon the performance of student in the placement cell. The highest package as per my knowledge is 13 lakhs and the average here is 6 lakhs. Sorry for the inconvenience but I don't have any knowledge regarding the job profile given. The placement percentage changes every year depending upon the respective batch. My planning after the course is either placement otherwise my prime goal CSE.
