Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

REASON OF CHOOSING: Life sciences is a multidisciplinary course with opportunities in almost all new fields of biosciences- like you can specialise in plain courses of biology such as botany and zoology and chemistry or you can go for many industrial corses after doing life sciences like clinical research, bioinformatics, phd life sciences, genetic engineering, biotechnology, dairy and other farming courses. FACULTY:STUDENT ratio: Faculty student ratio is very good (about 1:30). QUALITY OF FACULTY: We have very cooperative teachers with all time support provided by them. All the teachers are PHD here with more than significant knowledge of their fields and are experts of their fields, especially the zoology and botany departments. TEACHING METHOD: There is an inclusive teaching method with presentations, discussions. Presentations are prepared by faculty only and the syllabus is completed in almost subjects within time in both theory and practicals. TERM EXAMS: Timely and moderate.

Internships Opportunities

5

GODHAN RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP: unpaid but skill and CV enhancing Internship of Botany Department which can help you gain industrial research exposure in developing biopolymers from farm waste. VICE-CHANCELLOR INTERNSHIP: It is a PAID internship with INR 5000/month compensation at Delhi university administration department for 6 months wherein you will be a part of working community at DU office and will assist them in their daily office work. Apart from these many other internship opportunities like BIOINFORMATICS internship under zoology department, chemistry internships are also there which can be paid or unpaid. Moreover I would like to stress here that new internship opportunities from various private companies also come throughout the year in large numbers. You can choose anyone of them according to your calibre and skills. Government or college internships are few but you will get a fair chance and freedom to choose what fits you better. Opportunities are very high.

Fees and Financial Aid

FEE STRUCTURE: There is an annual fee of INR 15122 (life sciences) which is charged by college. Apart from it, you have to pay semester exam fee every semester which goes to university and ranges from INR 1700 to 2200 according to the number of practical or theory courses you are taking in that semester. Relief is provided in case of non-payment of fee but you will have to contact college office for this purpose and off course college is lenient in this regard. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES: College helps in timely verification of NSP forms.College provides financial aids but it is less compared to expenses. There are many scholarships released time to time having different eligibility criteria for PwD, economically weaker sections, and SC/ST/OBC scholarships. Many merit cum means scholarships are also provided. PLACEMENTS: College provides placements for non science students because almost all science students pursue higher education in order to develop the horizon of their careers.

Campus Life

5

FESTS: Annual Fest is celebrated in the college, all the festivals are celebrated here because people from all ethnic backgrounds are in Ramjas. There are many clubs and societies like NSS, Eco Club, Ramjas Debating Society, Ramjas UPSC wing, Finance And Investment society, and many more. LIBRARY: All types of newspapers and monthly/quaterly magazines are available in library. Fine Quality books are available. You can access the e-library of DU by getting your user Id from LIbrary. Library in Ramjas is home to UPSC aspirants as it has all relevant resources in it. CLASSROOMS: Best in class classrooms which are well ventillated, open ,large and have projectors and good quality desks with best cleanliness. Sports and extra curriculars: Many sports tounaments which are interdepartmental take place here like cricket, chess, badminton, etc. SOCIAL GROUPS OWNED BY STUDENTS: VISHALAKSHI Foundation, Ramjas info, BHARAT GYANAKSHAR, etc. are student run communities and clubs.

Admission

NAME OF ENTRANCE EXAM: CUET UG ELIGIBILITY: 12th pass with PCB/PCMB in science stream. For life sciences course you need scores of Physics ,Chemistry, and Biology in your CUET exam. ABOUT APPLICATION FORM: CUET Application form is submitted in online mode through NTA website. apllication fee at my time was 600 INR. Application dates keep changing and you have to stay updated about it through NTA website as NTA is thee conducting body. Reservation Benefits: Did not take reservation benefit. ADMISSION PROCESS: Completly online admission process with no hustles at all. No additional documentation and formalities are required. Very satisfied with this part of Delhi University.

The average package is around 6.5-7 LPA and the highest usually varies from 13-15 LPA L. Usually 50 percent of the students get placed directly from campus and rest usually pursue some other academic programs or even off campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
