Course Curriculum Overview

3

Choosing the course was a personal choice for me due to interest in the subject. The curriculum is very wide and applicable to every aspect of the subject offering hot topics such as biochemistry and nano chemistry. The curriculum prepares the student for master's degree as well as industrial purposes. The teaching methods can be improved by the teachers only as some of them are unable to complete syllabus on time as well as lack to impart practical knowledge. There are some tests organised by professors only that provide marks in internal assessment. The difficulty ranges from teacher to teacher.

Internships Opportunities

2

The internships are not provided by the college itself but made known through word of mouth by the professors itself as it is not necessary for students to have a internship. The internships are generally research projects that are associated with government fundings and are under the supervision of professors itself.

Placement Experience

1

The students become eligible in the last year for placement and there is dedicated placement cell called 'pinnacle' but it offers good placement in commerce courses but very less number in science courses and definitely neglible in chemistry as students generally tend to opt for a master's degree for better opportunities in industries as well as exams such as GATE. The package ranges from 3 to 4 lakhs. There are no specifics for the company names as the data is not continuous. My plan is also to opto for a master's degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure:-(What I paid) 1st year fees:- 17100 2nd year fees:- 16800 3rd year fees:- 17000 The examination fees is 500 rupees per semester with 200 rupees per subject per semester. There is no relaxation in fees category wise Scholarships are available for available for reserved categories. The fee is now raised upto 18500 per year.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest this year was mosaic which was almost the fest actual fest after Covid and it was held in May. The library is newly renovated which offers a great diversity of books and journals and a well ventilated space for reading and studying. The classrooms are not air conditioned and are called classroom theatres. They do have some smartboards available. The sports facilities are also advanced with all the equipments available as well as newly renovated sports ground and a gym. The sports are basketball, badminton, football, table tennis, chess etc. The clubs are usually student-run and they are quite large number of societies such as for dance, music, debate, art, photography etc.

Admission

I applied for Delhi University and was aiming for higher ranked colleges such as hindu college and hansraj college but was unable to match cut off marks for the college. Hindu college is symbolised to have the greatest equipments for chemistry department as well greater exposure towards research. Ramjas is also considered a good college for science department and I was able to clear cut off marks required so I got myself enrolled. The admission process is now replaced by marks in CUET PG examination and there are cut off lists released by Delhi University. The marks in first cut off required for admission are usually above 750 out of 800.

Faculty

3

The student to faculty ratio in class is about 1 teacher over 50 students. The faculty is generally nice and approachable. The faculties which I liked the most were Dr. Abha kathura(organic chemistry) and Dr. Shilpa(inorganic chemistry). They are quite approachable as well as very friendly and understanding. The faculty I didn't like was Dr. Naresh(inorganic). The behaviour was rude generally and was not a good teacher too! There are total 5 exams each semester upto 2nd year and 4 exams in 5th and 6th semester. The exams are moderately difficult. The exams are based on the curriculum syllabus only.

I will rate the course curriculum 8/10. I like the labs specially they are modern with well equiped systems. According to me I suggest to improve the course structure to include more practical based learning instead of theory. Overall course is good.

Placement Experience:

Students of 6th sem are eligible for the campus selection process. Our course also have placement programs. Some companies that visit here are TCS, Wipro and few more the no of offers made depend upon the performance of student in the placement cell. The highest package as per my knowledge is 13 lakhs and the average here is 6 lakhs. Sorry for the inconvenience but I don't have any knowledge regarding the job profile given. The placement percentage changes every year depending upon the respective batch. My planning after the course is either placement otherwise my prime goal CSE.
