- My college has a clean environment with a lot of greenery.
- The faculty of my department is highly qualified with years of teaching experience infact my college has one of the largest physics department in whole Delhi University
- My college infrastructure is quite commendable. The new block building in my college is of 5 floors which is highest in the north campus and probably highest in whole DU too.
Dislikes
- Experiments are the soul of Physics. The equipments in my department lab are mostly old and are not functioning properly. This causes a lot of problems and errors while performing experiments.
- Internet connectivity is one of the major problem that is faced by student of every department. The connectivity is very poor in my college. Receiving and making calls is nearly impossible inside the college campus.
- Another thing about which i am dissapointed is the hostel intake strength of my college. For boys their are approx 180 seats from all courses which is very less. I have to go for opting pg instead.The fees for hostel is also quite high nearly 48k/sem
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose physics because of my interest in this subject. The curriculum is focussed on making students gain practical knowledge rather then just cramming the books. I can opt for specific courses which are of my interest as addition courses, this illustrates the flexibility of the curriculum.Exams are the end of semester which are of moderate difficulty
Internships Opportunities
Several interships are grabbed by our department students.The presidents of my departments has done several internships. Some of my seniors have even done internship under ISRO which is like a dream for a science enthusiast. Iwill soon start to perpare for internship as well.
Fees and Financial Aid
I belong to OBC category.I have paid Rs19613 for one year.This is including every other charge apart from it I have to just pay for my exam registration on DU portal.For my 1st semester i paid Rs1910 as exam fees.There are no other charges aside from it.The fees of my classmates is also same except for someone who is physically disabled.The fees for a disabled student is Rs125 for the 1st year.
Campus Life
Mosaic is the annual fest of Ramjas college which is held on 7th and 8th of May every year.Thje college offers a huge library for reading enthusiasts. The college has a huge ground for sports activities and a basket ball court as well.Their is a gym complex as well .
Admission
No i kept my currentr college on my top preference during my counselling and i got selected in the very first round of the counselling. I kept it on top because of the experienced faculty for physics which was my top priority. i want to go in research field in future so the faculty was my top priority which is top notch in Ramjas College.The admisssions are made through CUET in my course. Out of 600,the cutoff is made.50% + is considered to be a good score and one can get admission in my course if he gets that.The admission procedure is smooth and transparent.
Faculty
The faculty is quite interactive and very approachable.They are always ready to help. While performing experiments in lab we are accompanied by 3 faculty members which are an expert in their fields. They clear every query while perfoming the experiments. The exams papers are setup by the Delhi University.They are sometimes tough but not all times.One can skore good marks easily if he or she is consistent in class.
Night Life
The favourite hangout spot is near the ampitheatre and the lawn near the new block where their are squirrels which are fun to play with.The campus opens at 8am and gets closed after 9pm for the hostlers.The whole campus area is continuously monitored by police vans and is completely secure to be explored at night.Sudama Chai wala which is outside the eastern wall of the college is one of the hot spot during the day as well as night for the students.
