Campus life is very good however the sex ratio is by far male dominant because of engineering field(less girls are involved in engineering esp. JEE). There are many extra curricular activities held. Infact for this there is a unique building namely Student Activity Center (SAC). Many competitions such as debate, singing, dance, speech, robotics, etc are organised.

SASTRA follows the Choice–Based Credit System (CBCS). CBCS has been designed to facilitate students to complete credit requirements at their own choice of courses and faculty. The B. Tech. curriculum has 225 credits comprising 75% theory and 25% practical courses. The final semester includes a project work and viva. The B. Tech. programmes are spread over four years (eight semesters), averaging about 27 credits per semester – the AICTE UG–credit being defined as 50 minutes of lecture and 100 minutes of self–study per week, for 15 net weeks (spread over 19 calendar weeks). The course work during the first year is mostly devoted to basic engineering and science courses, which constitute 61 credits. Out of the remaining 164 credits, students have to earn a minimum of 108 credits through core courses, 31 through departmental electives and 12 from interdisciplinary open electives. In addition, students earn 4 credits on HR skills and 9 credits for end–semester Project work.

When it comes to exams, i would say its a bit hectic and a bit chilled out. We hav to appear for two internals for a semesters and best of two are taken in consideration. at the end of six monthed semester we have to appear for an end semester exam. Sometimes assignments and projects have to be submitted. We have to attend labs that too for 3 days in a week.
Well there are lots of scholarship schemes available in our college but most of those schemes are only for the residents of West Bengal. Recently half fee waiver scheme was implemented for students having low family income and residents of WB but still there are some foreign scholarships which are available for students of other states too.
There was no entrance exam required for the admission of bachelors degree in our college, therefore admission process was easy.
No, there is no as such internship however there is Ph.d courses available for many subjects. There are no internship.

Not a single professor working here, have a good technical command. Collage is corrupt. Stuck in court cases. Professors are not paid their salaries, in turn they do no teach anything to the students. Students survive everything. No course there will give you research opportunity. There's no freedom to elect the subject. We had to select what collage wanted to. In fact we had to choose final year project what our HOD wanted. Though there were one or two professors were good in technical knowledge. Collage do not focuses on research.
In four years, I enjoyed once two freshers party, because principal do not give any money for any events. For annual function is funded by trusties, and that's why are celebrated. Good no of students participate in the events, and those who don't want to participate may be they are seriously not interested or why can not invest so much of time in all these, because collage is in village.

Since ours was the first batch, the process was not a big process those of us who were selected were called in for a discussion with the college admin and after a round of initial discussion the admission form and fees structure was shared and then the fees was paid after which the acknowledgment and confirmation of seat was guaranteed I chose Information Technology.
I am not much associated with the alumni group, though i wish to join them again some time soon seniors: Yes they are very helpful, we are still in touch with most of them my seniors belonged to VTU.

After qualifying JEE MAINS exam ,one has to register for its counselling. As a number of colleges (iits, nits, bit mesra etc)use jee mains counselling for their admission process ,a short span of time is given to the candidates for filling of their choices of a particular branch and college according to their preferences.counselling process includes several rounds of seat allotment process once a branch is allotted (according to one's preference order),he/she has to report at the reporting center for declarance of acceptance of that particular branch or continuing for further rounds of seat allotment so that a branch of higher preference order may be allotted. After counselling one has to report to the college in person and complete the final admission process.
I have said it earlier also that because of its specialization in manufacturing ,it produces world class manufacturing engineers who are pioneers it.I proudly say that nifft ranchi provides internships to students of many colleges including iits nits etc. Students generally avail a stipend of around 5000-10000 rupees. Internship would help one get deeper into the practical aspect of the subject and will make them ready for industrial world. The overall experience is just amazing. Actually nifft provides a whole round of true industry experience as heavy engineering corporation(HEC),Ranchi is located just near the college.

The faculty in ramaiah is exceptionally qualified with most of them having At least 15 years experience in teaching.Nevertheless their teaching methods are far from typical old age teaching skills and most know to teach a concept with a modern approach most of them are Post graduates and few have attained a doctorate in Their respective fields. They've written many articles and books in their fields.
My college does provide internship. Actually they provide choice in what type of internship students are interested in.This gives students a good exposure and also helps them make some money. My experience was a very good one.I have seen reputed companies offer opportunities. They've also set up various labs . Intel nvidia, apple,Microsoft, IBM,HP are just few of the many famous companies.
NIFT provides a structured placement program that are organised at various centres in a span of month where students take their portfolio and get interviewed by companies of their choices. Companies that come for placement are of various scale, While biggest garment companies such a Madura and Arvind come in, some small companies from places like tirupur also come in and offer great job profiles to students. Our placement in 2007 all my classmates were placed and an average package was 3.5L was offered that was a good package at that time.
NIFT entrance test during my time in 2003 had 3 levels of selection process. First phase has two papers that includes General aptitude Test & Creative ability test. Once you clear this one has to go though Situation test that tests your ability to create a 3D model in a theme given. Personal interview is the last stage of selection process. Counselling program takes place for final selected candidates that helps students to allocate centre and courses.

Course curriculum is updated now and is up to mark with current scenario. Opportunities are provided to work on corporate level projects. Course structure is backed up with practicals and labs are there in every department with specialized faculties. Grants are also provided and students could choose mentors for support. As is the story of every other college, few students focus on research voluntarily and others are pushed by curriculum to do so.
It is expensive because as they charge 1,60,000 rupees they don't facilities by that all the students has to purchase notes of their own which must be provided by the college and some curricular activities also must be exercised by the college it is good at its cleaness and water facilities all the modern facilities are available.
Labs are good but in extra curriculum activities it is the worst it is conducted only by students of not by the teachers so it is the worst so people don't get indulged in any activities conducted by the students so it should be changed and labs the teachers should be very antiquate with students which they are not.

Sahyadri College has one of the finest crowds, encompassing people from different corners of the country. It's important that you're a part of a healthy crowd so that you grow with the right encouragement. Not all departments and faculties of a college will be immensely helpful and faithful to your expectations so its rather recommendable that you're dependent on yourself to get the most out of the college, and sahyadri will surely help you with that. Not to forget the very friendly atmosphere that the college holds for you, sahyadri also has one of the best annual fests of the entire country and this might interest you as it did to me.

Teacher's have done M.Tech but are less supporting. There is a Benchmark that every teacher who use to take classes not the permanent one must have done M.Tech so teachers are qualified. But are less interested in student problem they on use to teach bookish knowledge and practical knowledge is not given and the don't even do and show practicals.

Since our college is autonomous only by name not by work . Labs are less conducted our college is from10:30 to maximum 5:30 so not that hectic as per myself.
