Campus Life

I really enjoy the campus life, because they give more freedom for us so each and every movement we enjoyed and we got access for labs and sports items there is no restriction and ragging and also there is no difference between seniors and juniors. all will behave like friends.

Placement Experience

The placement is so good in this college whole year there is murmuring of companies. Many student are selected in last year (100 out of 89) means 90% of placement. It is perfect. Many of the companies wants that they needs knowledgeable students so there is no chances for learning one only for knowledge companies like infosis, microsoft, mahindra, ceat etc are in regularly year by year.

College Events

There are a lot of good events that are organised in college the main event is maitri in which a lots of sports events , dancing, cultural activities , fashion show, dance show etc. is organised the maitri event is organised once in a year at the starting of january in which the stars of tollywood comes with a lots of enjoyment.

Campus Life

Placements at VJTI are certainly top notch. The college has consistently maintained the cent percent streak for most of the department. The name of the institute and its legacy are enough to get excellent placements, perhaps the best in Mumbai after IIT-B. Multinational companies like Microsoft (16 lpa), Google (19.95 lpa), Goldman Sachs, Oracle, Morgan Stanely, Yahoo and Deloitte also place a few students sometimes. Amongst mass recruiters Infosys, L&T and Cognizant tops the chart. Average salary is around 3.5 lakhs p.a. Special thing about placements here is that core engineering branches of Civil, Mechanical & Electrical don’t have to compromise by taking up an IT job. They get their branch specific job profiles, which is hardly the case in any Mumbai University colleges.

Faculty

Faculty of the Civil branch is excellent departments like Information Technology and Mechanical have excellent teachers. There is a lot of room for research work in these departments. Above average teaching in other branches, but you cannot expect more from professors of a government engineering institute. However, the importance of professors is much more here because of its autonomous nature. Many times the questions asked in the final exams are straight from the professors’ notes. Many experienced faculties have retired in the recent past and the new appointees do not match them in knowledge, qualifications or experience. However, they make up for all these with their enthusiasm and friendly nature.

I appeared in TANCET exam for MCA admission. There were 100 questions in the exam. The questions consist 40 question from computer, 40 question aptitude/logical reasoning and 20 question from General awareness. There was 1/4th negative marking in the exam. I scored 60 marks out of 100 and got 12 rank in the examination.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is not expensive, For MCA RS. 17000 per semester, for B.tech Rs. 6000 per semester. All the course fee is very reasonable and feasible. Total fee for 3 years course was 117000 which includes the security deposit too which is refundable at the end of the course.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure as on 2008-09 was bit on high side as compared to other college but it is been justified for the qualify infrastructure, placements and faculty. It was around Rs:-80,000 /Year for engineering branch (2008-09) As College was using license version of all software's and had all kind of hardware and software required with latest upgrades which was justified. College was also providing with study material for all subjects.

Faculty

Faculty of college is excellent and most of them have lectures are exam centric faculty overall has good industry experience , also they provide us with notes to prepare for exams, We always see cent percent attendance by the students they cover entire syllabus as specified by Mumbai university they are always easily reachable.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course structure is really interesting and as much research we can do in this field is always less. It's a vast field for researcher too. Because it relates human body with medical equipments. We can research more and more in this field as how to design artificial human parts which are compatible with human body, or how to design medical equipments with more features and specifications which can also overcome manpower during surgery. Biomedical Engineering is a vast field, and as it is completely for human being so it's as much important too.

Campus Life

Campus life was so interesting gender ratio may be 30/70. Extracurricular activities was always there, and a lot of students participate every year Zero % tolerance was there in any case of ragging. Labs was very good with well equipped and good looking. All type of labs was available there for all course.

Placement Experience

Good 50% students were placed through Placements. The institute was in the much north part of India and recruiters find it difficult to chose this location for recruitment. Also training and placements cell is not very active i believe more concrete steps were planned and need to be were implemented to improve this . Having said that that more steps need to be implemented from management is not sufficient more actions are expected from local Govt./Administeratin as well.

Exam Structure

Semester-based . Total of 8 semesters 1st 2 semesters were focused general studies 3 to 6 semesters were Focused on Basic electrical engineering. Give a good fundamental base for understanding the electrical eng. Later same was used in completing the Minor and major projects . Initial years of my carrier were spent on the implementation of learnings Thanks to the Prof. MN Bandopadhyay for giving some practical examples and making us competent for the Market.

Exam Structure

In my opinion Bachelor of technology student has the maximum number of exams in a course. A student has to appear for three internal exam during each semester for each subject with relevant modules. After this he has to appear for the external examination conducted by university to get certificate from university. The marks of internal as well as external exams will be combined to give gradw.

Fees and Financial Aid

Mar baselios christian college of engineering and technology peermade is managed by Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, which plays a paternal role in the institution’s establishment and operations. The institution focuses on offering baccalaureate degree programs in various Engineering streams and it provides scholarship / loan facility for various category of eligible students.

Course Curriculum Overview

Very very interesting. Every students have to go for MRP (Minor research project) and MRP (major research project). In every semester we have to complete the component sheet, which makes it very strength full course. Students have to have minimum 80% attendance, otherwise, students have to face Director of the PIMG (Dr. SS Bhakar). And I assure, no fraud or farzee certificates work there.

Placement Experience

Placements opportunities are fair enough. We get many opportunities from our placements department. Prof. Megha Yadav and Prof. Abahy Dubey are the coordinators of placement cell of PIMG and they are managing it well. We have developed the competence to contribute for the development of the organization. We are trained to formulate & implement projects independently.

Remarks

College management depends upon the HOD if the HOD is good, management goes on well. Teachers are very talented they teach very well but the thing is they wont get much time to spend with students.

Placement Experience

Placements are very good but I would like to tell, placements for core company should be increased.

Campus Life

In all the above aspects not with extreme high standards but it will be good. Gender ratio is equal not much difference you can find. Labs-- are quipped with recent technology and with skilled lab assistants. Sports- For Outdoor games area is good for volley ball, cricket, basketball, foot ball. indoor games having space issue and gym is available. Completitions: Evey departments conducts the Fest and college including the events like robotics, paper presentation, poster presentation, quiz, and other technical and non technical events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

During my time it was feasible, now heard that it was nearly 1Lakh. For few groups it will be expensive. During my time Fee structure follows as below: 35,500 -- College Fee, 2000 -- Library Fee, 3500 -- Miscellaneous Fee, 12000 -- For transportation Fee. Good thing about the transportation is anywhere in the city fee is fixed and it will help people who are far away from the college.
