There is near about 300 student studying they are living with good relationship in first year its make a every obe have fear of seniors about ragging there are all respects to each other and there atmosphere is new for everyone no any hostel parties are there. We are junior are collecting money and make a plan for parties and enjoying with friends. Some cultural programs also do every year by college its nice. About labs, the labs only for name there no machineries and well equipment in the lab which cause we don't learn practical knowledge. And the college conduct sport every year.
PET, I get 280 marks out of 600. I have choose this college bcz there is no knowledge abt colleges or you say lack of knowledge. No body standing behind me to seeing good way. So i had opt this particular college in counselling time some college teachers or college students are standing out of college they convince and make ready to admit this college.
GATE 92 percentile since it is one of the top colleges for both education and also for placements. For Post graduation there will be no interview and they follows admission process which includes the following. The college will notify about the admission in the news paper and their website, The student along with their elder may present for admission with all documentations, student can opt for 3 to 4 courses and will be allocated based on percentile or ranks
It is one the campus where a student can balance both his studies and sports. apart from these students can enhance there communication skills by various other extra circular activities that takes place within the campus. Hostel parties mostly includes Birthday parties.

More than 100 company showed up. Some of tech gaints like Amazon, Oracle, etc left thier presence, offering a lucrative packages upto 15lacs pa. Alas! no one in our university had enough potential to grab those offers. So hundereds of duds like me get placed in mnc's like Cognizant, wipro, infosys, aricent and the list goes on.
Went through internship in Cognizant. Rubbed my ass on developing app for them. Grabbed that opportunity by competiting among 1000 of students. All those effort ended up for nothing. No stipend offered. At last they gave a internship completion certificate which was applicable nowhere.

The exam is structure is good, a day off between each paper which gives you ample time to revise if you are a good student & for some like me i will say it gave me ample time to study. every semester we had 5 theory papers & 6 viva & practicals for same, if you attend lectures regularly there is hardly any problem in passing the subject with some of the knowledge. Also there was enough weight of marks for completion of practicals and attendance of the same. Unit tests were conducted 3 times in a semester keeping the students study and ready for the finals.
Mechanical engineering department of bidve engineering college is one of the best department. Computer science and electronics department is also good. Almost everything knowledgeable is covered under the syllabus to give us the idea of what the subject is related to, All the common major subjects like HT, SGT, FMHM, ICE, etc are taught by experienced lecturers and they are ready to help with whatever doubts student face.
The standards of the faculty is below average, you cannot rely on their so called experience & fancy degrees to seek knowledge, you have to be self dependent for seeking any knowledge but the happy part is there are few awesome teachers who single handedly outweigh the other poorly skilled teachers and also the college reputation and brand value provides you an aid for the lack of teaching standards and still makes itself stand right in one of the top positions.
Seniors are friendly but you won't get much time out from your schedules to know anyone better and to gel up good. But they are supportive and would never poke in your activities unless you demand so. Alumni would once in a while appear to campus for an interactive sessions and also as judges for various activities organized by clubs of mba viz marketing club, fincance club and csr club.
Good officers were offered to almost all the student in the college and a verity of companies were to offer relivent type of job to the student. The college was having no intern ship structure because there teaching model was all eight semester in the college.
Electronic and communication engineering was the branch in btech. The structure was semester wise and the each semester was divided in multiple assignments. There were eight semester in whole studies year. The timing was quit leanent and carrying structure.
We celebrate menfast its a management festival. In this festival we were participate and organized management game and also make business plan. And every Friday one more subject add on our practical life we called it activity class. It's like a motivation tonic for us.
My life expectations is very high so that campus experience is good not best. Extracurricular class run only first year after first year you are free what ever you want. And in this campus I feel competition was none. Students don't want to fight with each other.

There are few events conducted by NIFT college they are 1. Fashion Olympiad 2. Calista (competition to management students in setting up a retail store and run it profitably for 3 days.) 3. NIFT annual Fest (cultural and social events) 4. NIFT Converge(sports events)5. Freshers (Welcoming freshers)6. Farewell
Faculty for each subject are highly professional and they give a good guidance to every student. They also have a very good relationship with brands and manufacturing units. they not only teach they help every student to get internship and placed in a good brand or a designing house.

The faculty in this niper is with most research personnels are there and doctors and scientists and other phd persons our lecturers and proffesors are came from very prestigeous research institutes from csir, icmr institutions so we learn from them
The campus life is very enjoyful and provide good food, life, healthy environment because guwahati is hill based city, very cool whether, rainy seasons, good tourist spots and one of the big cities of north east india
The male:female ratio is almost 1:1. Students from all over the country from a part of the student community. We have a hostel day separately for girls and boys hostels. Students of all religions and all states form a part and there is absolutely no discrimination here. There is an elected students' body called the JIPMER students association (JSA) which conducts Spandan and caters to the needs of students forming a bridge connecting the students to the administration. Campus life is excellent. Girls have a curfew time of 11 pm which is not really followed. Boys do not have any curfew time.
Yes. The college provides internship and the monthly stipend is Rs.15120 per month. Interns do get to learn a lot as they are posted in all major and subjects during the 1 year of internship. But interns need to work a lot and many a time they have to carry blood samples for investigations. The only drawback is that they are not directly a part of the consulting team in the major departments. But interns get to do a lot of medical procedures and assist minor surgeries.
No internship in this course there was no stipened in this course. You need to struggle for everything for yourself. That's the whole story what should I say for this no more comments.
Overall my experience in a college was not good at all there were no facilities I our premise. Students were dull because of college behaviour that's all how it works.
There was a healthy gender ratio not just in SGTB Khalsa college, but in entire North campus and that's one of the reasons most youngsters wanted to join a college in North Campus. While I hardly remember any specific events, I do remember some bias towards students from North east who were called as 'Chinki'. We understand today that it wasn't the right spirit. I am sure the bias has reduced now.The annual college election was an event in itself.which can be termed bigger than the DUSU elections in some cases. A lot of financial and muscle power was used in those days to win elections. As far as DUSU elections were concerned, the main parties during that time were ABVP and NSUI, both using the finances and power provided by their supporting political parties. The annual events were a great fun and the entire campus used to wait for the annual cultural festival at SGTB. It used to be a fun filled yet competetive event with celebrities joining in on opening/closing days.
I opted for B.Com as I was always interested in getting into Business and Commerce sure would have helped me. I scored 78% in XII and got admission to the college as per the second cutoff list in 1995. (I wouldn't have gotten a chance to be a part of SGTB college if I had applied in recent times as the cutoff now goes upto 96%)

Our senior students are very helpful in every aspects. They guide us about studies, how to study, on what topics we should focus, what is important apart from studies also. they guide us in every manner. they take classes also for junior to teach them about certain topic which can be helpful in regular studies.
I appeared for AIEEE(All India Engineering Entrance Exam) exam in 2012.I got a good rank in this exam and i opt this college because of the branch(stream ) i want to have is available in this college because of its good academic and placement records.
Avishkar - This is the tech festival. It is quite big but most of the teams are from college with some teams from colleges in the vicinityGnosiomania: This is more of Business Festival with quizzing, debates, B plan competitions etc. It does see some participation from colleges like Symbiosis Pune, Delhi based colleges but again most are college teamsCulrav: This is a famous cultural fest. We did have some outside teams and also famous poets like Kumar Vishwas performing at the event
My batch was placed in recession year (2008) Considering that, I think the placements were still good. Some folks made it to Goldman Sachs, Amazon Yahoo and also got job letters which was a big thing considering economic scenario that timeAlmost all were placed but some of them got regret due to recessionAmazon offered around 14 lacsCisco,Yahoo, Netapp Adobe,Nagarro, Nomura, - 8-9 lacs rangeZS around 7 lacsI think Microsoft also came but i dont remember package

TCS was the first company to come i our college.and then there was a horde of companies following it.they offered near 3 lakhs per annum.
There were exams after every 6 months and these were mains.there were internal exams also.
Placment is the greatest advantage of being in such a reputed institution i was not holding good % and had a few back logs too to be eleigible to get into a decent service based company like accenture, Infosys, Wipro, CTS, TCS, IBM the student should hold a minimum of 65% without backlogs. I was holding 69% and got into accenture and this was the status in 2013. Package 3.3 L pa accenture was the bulk recruiter in 2013, recruiting around 550 candidates( BE, ME/MTECH, MSc). The next most recruited was IBM 330 candidates), Package :3.6 L pa. Next was Infosys(220 candidates). Package : 3.25 Lpa and for those toppers : securing more than 90% marks, few(in counts of 1 or 2 in every class, none in our class) got into CISCO, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Google, HP, Dell I am pointing only IT related companies as I know less about the core engg companies that recruited.
Faculties are good for maths subjects and for IT related subjects dealt mostly by fresh research scholars( currently resuming Ph.D), self learning is much expected, cant depend on staffs.Covering 18-25 credits of courses in each sem the total course covers 105 credits( ie 1 hour of subject handling for every credit in a week, so 18-25 hours of classes in a week, which is pretty much less hours compared to other engg stream courses in the college)Key Subjects : Data Structures, Digital Signal Processing, Distributed Computing, Digitam Image processing, Operating Systems, OOPS, JAVA and Lab courses in all of these.

25% of marks will be internals which will be taken average from 3 or 4 internal tests conducted every month. Subject teacher will decide on what date should the exam be conducted based on the course completion progress. It will be very hectic and you days will pass with most of the time reading in the library. Also you will have time to have fun in the college with friends. You can go play indoor/outdoor games for which all the infrastructure will be available.
I wrote TANCET exam which is direct entrance examination for Masters in Anna University and its affiliated colleges. In this i scored 55, for which i got M.Tech IT in CEG, Guindy. I had GATE score with 94 percentile. I can get some branch in NIT Suratkal, Anna University but i was interested to do Masters VLSI, Embedded or Computers. Since that score did not fetch me any seat in my interest subject, i wrote TANCET and joined Anna University.

The college does provide internships based on merit at the end of third year. It holds internship opportunities for some companies which may hold exams and interviews for selection. Some companies have a merit cut-off for writing the exam. While most companies offer stipend in the range of 5k-20k others may not provide stipend. In chemical engineering some companies which visited were Reliance and Lal path labs. Reliance offers internships to 5-6 students with a stipend of 5k. The internship offers a great deal to what it is to work in an industry after studies. It involves application based knowledge.
The exam structure consists of end semester exams, mid semester exams and quizzes. The weightage of end sems in 50%, mid sems and quizzes 25% each. The exam are held within a week usually in first year but its not hectic as one can score well easily by studying in one night. In the following years there are holidays between exams and its quite chilled out. The marking is relative and the grades are given relatively. There are usually one or two labs in a semester and lab exams are held separately from the end semester exams.
Like wise male are high as compare to female but in study female was best in my time they are the topper in my college. Parties and cultural events are celebrated. Like wise we attend the blood donation camp in college through the NSS in year 2014 and 2015 we was the number one in Mumbai university this is big opportunity to me and for my college.
As per my view with college faculty and college campus was awesome and I enjoyed every moment in college. My coordinator was helpful and she's so brilliant to tel us new think everyday other staff was best as per management studies. I mean to say faculty was great.
