The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) begins the NMAT by GMAC 2026 exam today, November 2. The exam will run from November 2 to December 20, 2026. GMAC will conduct NMAT 2026 at 64 test centres across 59 Indian cities. Because candidates booked their own slots, the exam will be held on different dates and in different time slots over the testing window, so not every candidate appears today.

The NMAT is a gateway to MBA/PGDM admissions at NMIMS, XIMB, KJ Somaiya, TAPMI and other top B-schools. If you are appearing in the opening days, here is what you need to know before you leave for the test centre.

Last-Minute Tips to Crack NMAT 2026

  • Don’t start new topics today. Revise formulas, shortcuts and your error log only.
  • Start with your strongest section. Early confidence helps you settle in. Most toppers go with the section where they can score fastest.
  • Mind the clock in Quant. If a question takes more than 90 seconds, mark it and move on. You can revisit it within the section.
  • Attempt everything. With no negative marking, an educated guess beats a blank.
  • Use the on-screen tools smartly. The navigation palette and calculator tools help you track attempted and unattempted questions.
  • Sleep well and eat light. Avoid heavy meals before the exam to stay alert.
  • Stay calm. NMAT is adaptive in feel, with a different question set for each candidate, so don’t compare difficulty with friends.

What If the NMAT 2026 Exam Doesn’t Go Well? Retake Option

NMAT gives you the flexibility to retake. There is a minimum gap of 15 days between attempts, and applicants are allowed up to two retake opportunities. You can register and schedule a retake from November 3 onward. You can then submit your best score to the colleges you apply to.
