JCECE Counselling 2027: Registration Expected July, Choice Filling and Round Wise Seat Allotment

JCECE Counselling 2027 is conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) to allocate seats in B.Tech, B.Sc Agriculture, B.Sc Forestry, and B.V.Sc. & AH programmes at participating state government and aided colleges in Jharkhand. Reservation of Quotas for JCECE Counselling 2027

Step 1: Registration

Add college-course combinations in order of your preference, with your most-wanted option first. You can add, remove, and rearrange choices as many times as you wish during the open window. Fill at least 15–20 choices to maximise your chances across all rounds. Include both aspirational first choices and realistic backup colleges so the algorithm can find you a seat even if top-ranked options are oversubscribed at your rank.

Step 4: Choice Locking

Once you are satisfied with the order of your choices, click "Lock Choices." After locking, no changes are permitted for that round — the allotment algorithm uses only the locked list. If you do not lock manually before the deadline, the portal may auto-lock your choices, but the system-generated order may not match your actual preferences. Always lock manually and well before the cutoff time. After locking, take a screenshot or download the locked-choice confirmation PDF as proof of your submission.

Step 5: Seat Allotment and Document Verification

The JCECEB publishes each round’s allotment result on the portal on the designated date. Log in, download your Allotment Letter, and pay the seat acceptance fee online within the specified window to confirm your provisional seat. Then report physically to your allotted institution on the reporting date with all original documents for verification. Physical reporting completes your provisional admission. Failure to report by the deadline — even after paying the seat acceptance fee online — results in automatic cancellation of your allotted seat with no reinstatement.

How to Lock Choices (Step-by-Step Guide)

Choice locking is the single most critical action in JCECE 2027 counselling. It finalises the preference order that drives the allotment algorithm for that round. Follow these steps carefully before the deadline.

Step 1: Visit the Official Portal

• Open jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in in your browser.
• Click on "JCECE 2027 Counselling" and then select "Choice Filling and Locking."

Step 2: Log In to Your Account

• Enter your JCECE 2027 Roll Number and the counselling password set during registration.
• Complete any OTP or CAPTCHA verification as prompted by the portal.

Step 3: Review and Arrange Your Choices

• Open your saved choice list and scroll through all added entries.
• Use the up/down arrows or drag-and-drop to rearrange colleges in your preferred order.
• Add any additional college-course combinations you may have missed; remove any you no longer want.

Step 4: Lock Your Choices

• Click the "Lock Choices" button at the bottom of the page.
• A confirmation pop-up displays your top choices — review the order carefully before confirming.
• Click "Confirm Lock." A success message appears on screen.

Step 5: Download Your Locked Choice List

• After locking, download the locked-choice confirmation PDF from the portal.
• Log out and log back in to verify the locked status is retained and reflects your intended order.

Once confirmed, your choices are locked and cannot be changed for this round.

How Much Money is Needed for JCECE Counselling 2027?

JCECE Counselling 2027 involves two types of payments: a non-refundable counselling registration fee and a refundable seat acceptance fee. Both are paid online through the JCECEB portal. Plan to keep sufficient funds available before each round’s payment deadline. Amounts below are expected based on the 2026 cycle and are subject to official confirmation by JCECEB.

Non-Refundable Fees

The counselling registration fee is paid once at the time of Round 1 registration. It is non-refundable in all circumstances — regardless of whether you receive an allotment, withdraw your seat, or do not report to the college.

Refundable Fees

The seat acceptance fee is collected when you confirm a seat allotment. It is deposited as a security against your provisional seat and is refundable if you withdraw within the prescribed window. If you withdraw after accepting a seat past the refund cutoff date, the seat acceptance fee is not fully refunded.

JCECE 2027 Round-Wise Seat Allotment

JCECE 2027 counselling allocates seats across multiple rounds. Each successive round draws from vacated and unreported seats of the previous round, expanding opportunity for students with lower ranks or niche preferences. Your rank, category, and locked choices jointly determine the seat you receive in each round.

If seats remain vacant after the Mop-Up round, JCECEB may authorise a spot round or institute-level direct admission, subject to Jharkhand government approval. Students who formally withdrew from counselling in earlier rounds are typically not eligible for spot rounds — verify the eligibility conditions in the official JCECE 2027 counselling brochure.

Upgrade, Freeze, or Withdraw: What Should You Choose?

After receiving a seat allotment in any round, you must select one of three options within the acceptance window. This decision determines your provisional seat status and participation in future rounds.

If you withdraw after accepting a seat, the seat acceptance fee is not fully refunded. Choose "Upgrade" rather than "Withdraw" if you wish to remain in contention for future rounds while keeping your current seat as a backup. Withdraw only when you are certain you will not pursue a JCECE 2027 seat.

Reporting to the Allotted College

Physical reporting to your allotted institution completes your provisional admission to JCECE 2027. Reporting must happen within the dates specified in the counselling schedule — no extensions are granted for individual delays, and missed reporting automatically forfeits your allotted seat.

Steps on the Reporting Day:

• Reach the allotted college’s admission office with all original documents and one self-attested photocopy set as listed in the Documents Required section above.
• Submit your JCECE 2027 Allotment Letter along with both the counselling registration fee receipt and the seat acceptance fee payment receipt.
• The college verifies all your documents; any discrepancy — such as an invalid category certificate or an expired domicile proof — may result in cancellation of admission.
• Pay first-year tuition fees, development fees, and other institutional charges at the college accounts counter. Retain all payment receipts.
• Collect your Admission Confirmation Letter from the college admission office.
• Register for hostel accommodation (if required) through the college warden or administration — hostel seats are limited and allotted separately on a first-come basis.

If your allotment is upgraded in Round 2, report to the new (upgraded) college and present your Round 2 Allotment Letter. The Round 1 college will release you only after you produce the JCECEB-issued Round 2 allotment document — collect a release acknowledgment from the Round 1 college before leaving.

Note: Original Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and certificates are retained by the college for the full duration of the programme. Collect a stamped acknowledgment receipt for every original document you submit on reporting day.
