Soil pollution, Soil contamination, or land pollution are all forms of land degradation caused by the presence of xenobiotic (human-made) chemicals or other changes in the natural soil environment.

  • It is most commonly caused by industrial activities, agricultural chemicals, or inappropriate waste disposal.
  • Soil pollution is defined as the toxicity of soil with high concentrations of toxic substances.
