Confidence multiplied- NMAT by GMAC is set-up to be taken in multiple sessions during a year. With multiple chances available in your hands, you have the confidence of taking the test more than a single time in a particular year to score your best shots.
Your choice, your voice- NMAT has the best interests of students in its mind. It is computer-adaptive and delivers one question at a time from a pool of questions within each section. The exam has three sections – Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning. The three sections can be answered in any order of student’s choice as they are individually timed. With this choice, students can play by their strengths and answer the test. Aspirants must answer questions of each section within the allotted time.
No negative marking- Aspirants have better luck in attempting questions as there is no negative marking. This gives them a chance of making an educated guess to the questions they are apprehensive about. There is nothing to lose and the guess could score you a mark.
Official Practice material for your grab- A person is always confident and able to deliver better when they are assured of what to expect. The practice materials provided to students will prepare them well for the actual test and give it a bang. Official practice materials are easily accessible to students and assist them in familiarizing themselves with the test format.
At your convenience- The student can select the test- date, time and location of their convenience and the availability of test centers and seats. Also, you can register from anywhere at any time in your amenity.

Finally, the score for NMAT by GMAC for each candidate is calculated by procuring the candidate’s final ability analysis on the basis probabilistic model approach of modern test theory and conformed to a scaled score ranging from 0 to 120.
The number of questions, time limit, and difficulty levels, for every section, is established early-on and are the same despite when and where the test is administered.
Percentile scores in NMAT are like scale meters i.e. it tells a candidate’s performance in comparison to the total number of candidates who have appeared for NMAT. It provides essential information like passed candidates, number of appeared candidates, possible cut off the exam, and so on. For example: if a candidate secures 80th rank, then it means that the candidate has scored 80% better than other test takers.
Raw test scores are equated and placed on a common scale in order to rule out any difficulty in overall calculation of NMAT score. This process by GMAC ensures that scores are comparable across test forms and are not impacted by candidates opting for different test forms. It ensures that every candidates goes through a just scaling process despite a different question pool.
