Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I'm studying Sociology honours. As I had sociology in my 11th and 12th, I always liked the subject. Sociology is a very vast subject and it studies every aspect of the society. It's not only about society but about everything. As we are living in a society we need to have knowledge about it well. In CUET, Sociology exam was quite moderate level.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are various scholarships provide by the university. One needs to fulfill the criteria of the system and you can apply for it. The fee structure is not that much of my particular course. We have to pay money for the one year in college. We don't have to pay semester wise. Although, we need to pay when form filling the semester exam. There are various scholarships. One needs to go check for it in the National Scholarship Program provided hy government of India. There are various different scholarships to different students. Also, there are various societies in Delhi University which are like entrepreneur societies, marketing societies through which you can get campus placements.

Campus Life

3.5

Delhi university is full of different fests and academic events which help you to enjoy your college life beautifully. After coming here, I have attended many fests organised in different months. First, the fest of different societies welcoming the newly freshers. Then, we had a beautiful freshers which was a huge success. Also there were different freshers parties. Also, every department celebrated different department freshers. Also, we had Dandiya evening, Diwali fest, Halloween party and many more. And the main annual fest is celebrated between February- April. The library is so huge. Every type of books are available and daily newspapers are available. Also, a good environment to study. The classrooms are also beautiful. Everythings are available. Sports and extracurricular activities are also there. Also, students who have EC and sports quota, they get to trained in fields in different sports. There are different societies like photography society, western music society etc.

Admission

First, To get into Delhi University you need to appear for CUET exam, which is Common University Entrance Test. So many prestigious universities of India accept admission through CUET. Then, you need to choose various universities you want to apply for and their eligibility criteria for the particular course. You can find the application form on the NTA CUET website itself. The application fees is different to different student on the basis of how many subjects you want to give exam for and on the difference castes. Reservation is also there. You need to check it out on the website. Each subject total is 200 except General test. General test exam is for 250.You will be given total 1 hour for every subjects. There are few things one needs to look for. First, one needs to be confident about which course he/she is going to study far. And for that particular subject you need to thoroughly check the Eligibility criteria for universities one wants to apply for. Last not the least, good luck

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
