Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

If I talk about my course than I would say it's a best decision of mine because the interest that political science generates in a student is unmatchable. That syllabus of this course has attracted me to select this course for my graduation and the practical knowledge that I get from this course is also very relevant in daily life and basic politics of the society. One who is pursuing this course can further become a political analyst or a political expert. If I talk about the improvement than I would say that a little bit more practical teaching and field work is required in this course. Through the exam perspective,I would say that the overall timing of 3 hours for exam is sufficient for a student to attempt every question.

Internships Opportunities

4

University provides an equal opportunity for internship to every student and various reputed companies hire the students for work. Companies like HCL, Deloitte, ICICI bank, etc. gives a good package to the interns. Most of the times the internship work is related to computerized work and the work of data analysis.

Placement Experience

4

A student can enjoy the benifit of campus placement from second semester onwards and this is one of the best thing of this university that a student can start earning from first year of the graduation. Students have option to work in reputed companies like HCL, Deloitte, ICICI bank, etc. and the offers they provide are from 20000 to 40000 per month. Around 20% to 30% students can easily get campus placement in Delhi university.

Fees and Financial Aid

As Delhi University is a government university, the fees structure is very well organised and the amount is fees is minimal so that both rich and poor students can afford a good quality education. Tuition fee increase policy has not affected any student because the students with lack of money has an option of scholarship. A student can a scholarship of upto 100% After all the compulsory expenses of college I can say that it is very minimum amount of money. Even the fees is very less, the average placement package of the university is very good in numbers.

Campus Life

4

In Delhi university, the annual fests of the colleges take place in the months of April and may. And one of best college fests of the country take place during these two months like crossroads by SRCC, MECCA by Hindu college and many more. If I talk about infrastructure of the colleges than I would rate it 7.5/10 because most of the colleges have a very good infrastructure which includes smart classrooms, professionally built playgrounds, proper lighting all over the college campus. But in few colleges the situation is very difficult to survive and even desks of classroom are not in proper condition. Apart from education and infrastructure, Delhi university provides social engagement to it's students by having societies and clubs like NSS, NCC, etc.

Admission

In Delhi university, one could get admission through giving the entrance exam i.e. CUET and the eligibility of the course differs from category to category. It depends that from which category of the society you belong. After fulfilling the eligibility, one could fill the admission form and submit admission fee on the website of Delhi University.

Faculty

4

If I talk about the qualification of the faculty members than I would say it's very impressive that faculty members are highly qualified from the top university from all over the world. In Delhi University, A professor has an average of 150 students including all the 3 years students of graduationgraduation which is a bit higher number for a professor to manage. Teaching methods of the faculties are very advanced and modern and faculties are also very helpful towards students doubts/problems and provide guidance to their students and specially to the first year students so that the freshers can easily adopt the environment of the university. A student can meet the professor in free time or in the tut class/doubt class that takes place on weekly basus.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
