Course Curriculum Overview
The BA course in Maitreyi College is academically enriching and well structured. It provides a strong theoretical foundation in both the disciplines but could benefit from more practical exposure. Why I chose this course? Economics covers key areas like micro, macro and stats while English in communication, critical thinking and research skills.
Fees and Financial Aid
Maitreyi College, Delhi University- Review & Fee Structure Maitreyi College offers quality education at an extremely affordable cost. I pursued BA in Economics & English and my batch had around 70 students, all girls. The faculty is excellent and the campus is vibrant with various extracurricular activities. Fee Structure (Approx.) Total Course Fee (3 years): 18000-20000/- INR Fees has seen a slight increase but remains one of the lowest in DU. Scholarships & Financial Aid: 1. DU Merit-cum-meet Scholarship: for top performing students. 2. Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST & OBV students. 3. EWS Fee Waiver: for financially weak students. Final Verdict: Maitreyi College is affordable, academically strong & a great place for growth, if you want budget-friendly DU college with quality education, this is a top choice.
Campus Life
Maitreyi offers vibrant campus-life with fests like Rhapsody in February-March, a rich library and big classrooms, sports and clubs like Dramatics, Debating and NSS fostering growth and engagement in the college
Admission
I chose Maitreyi College for its affordable fees, quality faculty and safe campus. I applied to Venky & Gargi but didn't meet their cutoffs. Admission was merit based via DU cutoff list. I scored 92.5%
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio was 5:70, the faculties and staff were very friendly and understanding. They were very approachable in times of need. My favourite was my Economics teacher back then, due to her my Ecomand the basics are still clear even today. There were teachers who were partial too and practiced favouritism. The exams happened semester-wise, which make is twice every year.
Night Life
Maitreyi has no hostel, campus shuts by 5:00 PM after the classes. Gym, library and canteen also close by then. Nearby Satya Niketan and CP are top hangouts. Safe locality but night life is limited for the students.
