When four cells of EMF 'E' are connected in parallel, the total EMF of the battery will still be 'E'. This is because when cells are connected in parallel, the positive terminals are connected to each other and the negative terminals are also connected to each other.

The potential difference between the positive and negative terminals of each individual cell is 'E'. When they are connected in parallel, the potential difference between the positive and negative terminals of the entire battery is still 'E'.

Therefore, the equivalent EMF of the battery will be 'E'. However, the internal resistance of the battery will be lower when cells are connected in parallel, which will result in a higher current output.
