IIFT 2021 : 9 answered questions

Ques. How should one prepare for the GD/PI/essay writing round for the IIFT entrance exam?

● Top Answer By Roshni Roy on 19 Mar 21

Ans. The GD and PI round depends completely on your knowledge about the respective topic, current trends, general knowledge, etc. The interviewers tend to check how practical and logical your approach is towards a particular question. There are certain pointers to be kept in mind while preparing for the GD/ PI/ Essay Writing round for the IIFT entrance exam. They are discussed below - Since most of them come from an Engineering background, a deep knowledge of economics is not something they are looking for. The ability to apply basics and the enthusiasm to be keen to acquire knowledge of the current economic condition of the country and the world is expected as you must be an alert citizen to be a good future manager. You must read and gain knowledge about BRICS, IMF and WTO; countries with their capital cities and currencies, Indian economy's present scenario, role of the sector which you belong to, budget, etc. It is important to read - "The Hindu" and "Indian Express". You can be questioned about your low scores in Graduation, in spite of being an above average student throughout their career and a genuine answer should be given. IIFT sends a CV form which includes various questions like a student’s achievements, failures, regrets, ethics, practical knowledge, something inspirational, etc.  Since it is sent almost a month before the interview date, you must keep a copy of it and try answering all the possible questions on it. Because that is how they will conduct the interview. You must also be prepared to answer some questions related to their academics, their favourite subject and then ask questions related to that.Read more

Ques. Is it worth preparing for IIFT as a fresher?

● Top Answer By Shefali Rao on 16 Mar 21

Ans. Yes, you can prepare for IIFT as a fresher. It is not necessary to have work experience in order to do an MBA in India. So, ‘worth’ is a subjective term in that sense. If you have a goal, you can definitely find a way to reach it with a little effort. Frasher or work-experienced candidates are kind of a short-sighted way to judge this.  If you are certain to opt for an MBA course then go for it. It is advised to first explore the industry, and figure out yourself whether you want to pursue it or not. So, you can know what will be the better option.Read more

Ques. What should I do to prepare for the current affairs sections of the IIFT exam if I have one month left?

● Top Answer By Aakash Sharma on 02 Feb 21

Ans. The first and foremost thing you will have to crack any MBA exam is confidence and discipline. Even in a very short time, you can be well prepared, if you do not lose your focus and are ready with dedication. IIFT questions section includes Quantitative Ability/Analysis, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Reading Comprehension, Verbal Ability, General Awareness. Total 110 MCQs are asked which you have to complete in 2 hours. Most of the questions related to current affairs and general knowledge, generally 80-90% questions asked from Business Awareness. All questions are asked from related events in the past year. You have to plan and make a strategy based on this.  Here are some tips on how you can implement your exam strategy. Do as much revision as you can. Only cover important topics, of which you have made notes.  Do not depend on the newspaper for current affairs at the last minute. By doing so you will end up consuming points that are not important. It will distract you with unnecessary happening and events. Watch national and international news channels. Since they are good sources of current affairs. If you are preparing at the last minute, it is better that you watch videos for subjects instead of reading from books. Audio and visual information stays in your mind for a long time. Along with that, it will also save your time.  You can download reading materials from online sources. Most of the sites have free GK and study materials for MBA exams. You don't need to panic. 30 days are enough for cracking IIFT if you study with full dedication. All the bestRead more

Ques. Which book will be best for IIFT exam preparation?

● Top Answer By Saket Srivastava on 02 Feb 21

Ans. The basic preparation for all the Management entrance exams, such as CAT, XAT, remains the same. Where you have to focus more is on the Current Affairs section. You can prepare current affairs by reading newspapers, magazines like Manorama Yearbook, GK Today, etc. Today several online courses also started like CareerAnna, Ravi Handa, which you can join for the MBA exam. Brush up your general knowledge, which might help you to solve some questions along with keeping up with all the current affairs. The most important thing required to crack the IIFT exam is speed. Therefore, practice and solve the previous 10 years of papers in a limited time to increase your speed during the exams.Read more
